So how good are Yamaha's Xeno line of trumpets? I've heard from some that they're as good as or better than Bach Strads. I currently play on a Strad (late 80's model, definitely shows its age) and am wondering if I should try out the Xeno. Which do you think is better?

For me, the Xeno was a much better choice. I felt that it played "free-er" and had a better sound quality. I'd highly reccomend trying it out. Not sure if it will be the "perfect fit" for you, but it seems to work well for me ;)

Ive been using a strad all through high school for concert and marching and what I will be using in college, and I use a Xeno for drum corps. They both are great horns. If I had to choose one I would choose a Bach Strad. They both have great tones and for me thats the only difference I feel with the two horns. Xeno has a sort of rounder tone that blends a lot better with other instruments. I feel Strads sound a lot better when soloing and playing in like an orchestral setting where its a small number a part. So I think it matters what setting you are in.
