Xenon Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 The 2011 BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis are already under way, but you haven't missed the 3 bands from Texas yet! Here is a link to the Prelims schedule which covers all of Thursday and Friday: http://www.musicforall.org/what-we-do/marc...ionals-schedule The Semifinals will be Saturday morning and day and Finals will be Saturday evening. We have 3 bands from Texas that are going to be there and they all perform in Prelims on Friday. 10:15 a.m. - The Woodlands H.S., TX 10:30 a.m. - Claudia Taylor Johnson H.S., TX 8:00 p.m. - Spring H.S., TX There is a live webcast available on the MFA Fan Network for those of you that want to watch but can't make it up there! Individual Webcast Prices are: Prelims = $19.95 Semis = $24.95 Finals = $29.95 Or you can still purchase a $59 subscription which gives you access to all of those webcasts AND on demand video from all BOA Regionals, Super Regionals, and Grand Nationals performances from now until 8/31/2012. I will be traveling up to Indianapolis tomorrow (Friday) morning, but I won't get there in time for the early Prelims performances, so those bands better make Semis! I will be running the TxBLive Blog while I am up there, but the updates will mostly be sporadic and more general commentary than full reviews. And of course we will have the results Live as they are announced. And also of course, more detailed coverage of the awesome Texas Bands. (Total Homer) Quote
T.Stechnij Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Do you think we can get a predictions thing going? I will be tuning in for finals (hopefully) but I would like to make some predictions of who will get there. :3 Thank you. Quote
bchorn Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 For those who have purchased the Bands of America webcast, are you also able to replay the preliminary shows after the fact? I won't be able to watch the morning TX bands because i'll be at work so I could watch them later tonight before the Woodlands performs. Quote

So you can watch The Woodlands, CTJ, and Spring all day long Quote
Xenon Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Also note that all times are Eastern! Sorry for any confusion. Quote
Rubisco Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Just a heads up, I watched both The Woodlands and CTJ perform on the webcast, and they were both incredible! It seems like the Lucas Oil Stadium has made both of them sound even better than they did at San Antonio. (Well, that and maybe a week of practice.) It looks like The Woodlands may have cleaned up their closer drill a little bit, too. It was hard to tell on the webcast because the view kept shifting. You could definitely hear those mellos! Quote

Xenon Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 Semis will start at 7:45am Eastern. Quote
Danpod Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 All three Texas bands in attendance make Semi-Finals. Several good programs from Michigan and the Midwest miss the Semi-Finals cut. Quote

Draak Vader Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 WOW! I hate that for Spring. What was their semi's placement? I can't see how they could have been very far out of the final 12. We've still got the Woodlands and CTJ though! Quote
Xenon Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 BTW, I did get confirmation from multiple unnamed sources that Spring was indeed 13th place in Semis. Only one spot out of Finals. Quote
whitewing09 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Was the flute solo at the beginning of Broken Arrow's show from the same music as the solo in Churchill's show last year? Quote
