aaron067 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Could someone help me out with the titles and composers of the pieces used in the show? Thanks in advance! Quote
takigan Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Don't really feel like digging for any inside info, but what I do know offhand from listening to it is that their opener is the Strauss Vienna Philharmoniker, and the 2nd piece with the soloists is 'Queen of the Night' by Mozart. There's another part in there that I recognize from Liszt's "Les Preludes", though I'm not sure how much of the remainder of the show is Les Preludes and what might be some other selections (it's been like 10 years since I played the band transcription of Les Preludes).....not sure about the rest. aaron067 Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Thanks Brandon! I knew the opening Strauss and Mozart, and I figured out that the fourth movement is an excerpt from the Sequentia section of the Mozart Requiem. The closer sounds like Beethoven, but I haven't spent much time on that part of it, and I imagine the harpsichord feature is most likely the Bach. If the press articles about the band that year are accurate, those are the other two composers that I haven't accurately identified, so I'm going to work with that. Quote
buzz Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 The percussion solo is "Winter" from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi. Quote
