themainclarinet Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 So just bc our school football team doesn't play other schools with the main powerhouse bands. I was just wondering how the halftime showes were or stand tune wars were like.... for example churchill and Reagen, if they play one another? just a thought. Quote
mbui Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Churchill & Reagan play each other. Both are in the same school district (North East ISD - San Antonio). And if I'm not mistaken, they are huge rivals. Quote
Xenon Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 It was really quite a treat when Duncanville and Bell were playing eachother. Quote
xMonicax Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 It seems to me that a lot of people think that Reagan and Churchill hate each other, which really is far from the truth. We're rivals but its quite a friendly rivalry. For instance, we sent over a congradulatory banner to them after they did so well at BOA Houston, and from the Churchill people I've talked to, I hear its still hanging in their band hall ^^ Just a response to the "And if I'm not mistaken, they are huge rivals" thing. I dunno if you are one of the people that think we all hate each other or not, but I figured I may as well clear it up, just in case ^^ But anyways, the football games, to me, really aren't that different than other games, except I'm more interested in the halftime shows when its against someone like Churchill >.> Quote

I was talking more about football. Quote

Well in that case, yeah, you're right. Its just like, on the BOA forums and stuff, if someone bad-talks reagan a lot of people seem to be like "oh, it must be a churchill person, they hate reagan" and stuff like that, y'know? It bothers me 'cause I have some friends at churchill Quote
Danpod Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I think it's funny that the Reagan/Churchill bands are never there for the game because they are either at San Antonio Super Regional or Nationals. Quote

We have the game together this year, though, but there's some thing happening during halftime or something, I dunno, so instead of playing at halftime, Reagan will have to perform after the game, I know that much... I don't remember what day the game is on though... I think its on a saturday near the end of the month Quote

I am not going to open my mouth Quote
themainclarinet Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 And most of our games are on thursdays or fridays, so we usually arn't gone at a BOA Quote

So far we've only had one saturday game but that was the Texas Football Classic thing in the alamodome. Well, then there's the game today, but we're not going because we're gonna be gone. Anyways, a final word before I'm off to school: good luck to everyone at Arlington! Quote
I<3thebox Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 oh wow do I wish we played schools that had bands Halftime is always fun or us, but then we stand and watch the other band.... oh my *ha I just realized that the cooling fan from my laptop is blowing a popcorn kernel around my desk* (sorry for that random thought lol) oh, and we had a saturday game cuz of Rita (gotta love 'er) and it was supposed to be during BOA Houston. Oh my we almost didnt go - THAT was like the dumbest thing ever. Apparantly once upon a time it rained at a football game and so the band had to packup and leave (uni's, instruments = lightning rods etc) anywho the football team lost, and it was ALL OUR FAULT apparently. So now we go to every football game. Probably due to the fact that our team = NO es bueno and so if we left, no one would be there, and the people who WERE there would be majorly bored. lol Quote
