bossman Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 FAvorite color, is and always will be the euphonium/ French Horn. There's no comparison to those two Quote
Nancy08 Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 For WW, English horn and bari sax, and basson when played right. If the reeds too bright...>_< I love f horn, and flugel horn, and euph in the brass. Chimes, and timp for percussion. Cello for strings. Quote

EuphToth Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 It's a Yamaha. May not be the best brand, but better than the one I'm playing. Quote

bossman Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 i did that my freshman year with my horn, all we did was trade a couple of pipes and it looked exactly like that. Quote
whitewing09 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 ^ lol can you say ghetto jk you know i alwayed liked the sound of a trombone and i alway want to try to learn how to play it so i think im gonna do jazz band and learn how Quote
EuphToth Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I problably should do that too. It's depressing that they don't allow euphonuims in. Quote
chickora Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 I want to do the same thing, but learn Saxaphone. That's my goal this summer. Quote
Nancy08 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 sax can sound really good (when our all-stater plays it) OR really bad (when I play it ) Quote
Shiloh Phoenix Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Yamaha is a great brand if you buy the right horn, such as a YBB-321 tuba may not be the best choice for a concert tuba, but a YF-101(I think) is a GREAT F tuba. and don't get me started on the quality of their contras, it's phenomenal. speaking of gawdy trumpets... http://www.harrelsontrumpets.com/satellite1.htm or: http://www.inderbinen.com/Page_e/Davinci_e.html go to the other trumpets on that 2nd website, they're gorgeous! connman Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 That's what i'm talking about...even though the trombone itself isn't that color... But soundwise, i like the Trombone sound, it can be goofy, soft, fierce, or smooth and fits in right where it is. But, because i'm biased on that, i'll say Euphonium is my second favorite because it's perfect in marches and can have a bouncy sounding melody to it. I dont really like the trumpet, because the players in my band have shrill sounds, and i dont really care much for the clarinet *sorry guys* because too many people play it and i can hardly hear them (even though there are more than ten people playing) Quote
connman Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 if you think a mellophone sounds like a dying moose, try listening to a beginner playing the tuba Quote

connman Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 i didn't sound like a dying moose......more like an elephant being dipped in acid Quote
Nancy08 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 i sounded like a foghorn, or a dying moose... Quote
