Next year we'll probably go to Grandnationals and State, but this is honestly just flat-out fun to perform nowadays, and most audiences love our show too. It's weird though, a very large amount of people are supporting us (as in Hebron) simply because they seem to hope we beat marcus. Honestly, I'm more worried about the Woodlands than Marcus....if this was a UIL contest, then it would be vice versa. Either way, can't wait to see y'all at retreat! I'd be worried about more than just the Woodlands. There is just so much talent at the top of the BOA food chain. Marcus was able to secure 1st in prelims at Duncanville winning multiple captions (you can argue that it's a different format, but historically Marcus does extremely well in both formats). Bell has a lot of material to build on. CTJ was a close second in both of the BOAs they attended (let's see if they kept up their early season drive) Bowie is normally phenomenal. That said, I love Hebron's show. Ugh if there were ever an event that I would want to go to live it would be BOA SA this year! I'll be enjoying the shows via live webcast though and I'm still stoked. Totally sincere. I noticed that you crossed out "2011" in your bio. I understand that 2011 was somewhat of a misstep for Hebron, but why does the program seem to act like it doesn't exist? What exactly happened? There is no trace of a free video of the show on the internet and I always see band members comment things like "2011. never again." on youtube. Trumpet927 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Boa SA is going to be a HUGE dogfight. Kinda nervous. I'm pretty sure Marcus, Bell, and Woodlands are going to be great regardless if their show is just finished or not! Hebron and Bowie will be really really close together! And let's not forget CTJ!!! Saw them and Boa Austin and they were awesome! Can't wait till this weekend. Glad to spend my last year competing with these great bands. Quote

Popular Post Jackson1 Posted October 30, 2013 Popular Post Posted October 30, 2013 Not to get Doctor Phil"ish" but here is my advice for all bands: 1. DON"T WORRY ABOUT OTHER BANDS! - They are doing exactly what you are doing. Cleaning and polishing their show to put on the best product they can. You cannot control that so focus on your show and your role. 2. APPRECIATE THE SUPPORT! - Win or lose, think about the support you have had in order to get here. Band directors and staff, parents, student leadership, etc. Your have an army behind you. 3. ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE - Bond with friends. Enjoy the trip. Remember everyone there has a love of music and marching. Break out of your comfort zone and meet other people from other areas. You don't get the chance to meet so many other people from so many other places with the same passion. Reach out!!!! 4. JUST PLAY!!!!!! - That rush of adrenaline you get right before walking on the field - Use it, harness it, own it!!!! Play your heart out!!! Leave the field thinking "I didn't leave anything out on that field and neither did the rest of my team". 5. BE RESPECTFUL - EVERY BAND IS AMAZING!!!!! Good luck to all!!! BaritoneBro Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 CTJ and Round Rock seem to be really quiet so far. I'm excited to see how much they've improved since BOA Austin and Conroe! I've also been wondering, if Marcus didn't perform their full show at DMI, will they be finished by this weekend? Or are they building up to Grand Nationals? Quote

Hebron beat Round Rock in the finals by .10 because Round Rock had a .10 penalty. Without the penalty, they would have been tied for 7th and since Round Rock's GE score was higher, they would have actually been in 7th place. At least last year, you two were pretty even. Quote

That's very true. Owasso and Marion are incredibly good bands and that was a pretty well contested top 5 at that regional up there. That's why it's great that other bands from out of state come down to Texas! Quote
