Loudsaxes1 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Who cares. 4a state is gonna be a good one to watch. Cedar park. Poteet. Friends wood. Waxahachie. Vista ridge. Vandergrift. Connaly. The list goes on and on. Quote
whitewing09 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Love it! I can't wait to watch their final product. Quote
Popular Post Statebound Posted November 1, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 1, 2013 Fantastic by anyone else's standards but just lukewarm by Marcus standards. There are probably a handful of bands that think they have a realistic chance to beat Marcus this year. They still have some of the classiest kids and parents you'll come across. torhconnor@gmail.com, BaritoneBro and Bsax61 3 Quote
timwoo2003 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I was not impressed. Not as good as the past few years. Blue Springs form Missouri should take the whole thing. Awesome show! Quote
ssreedtx Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 What is going on with Marcus? They're just not getting the scores they usually get. Quote

It seems like they're trying something new show wise. Apparently some people think that their musical performance isn't up to par with what they usually put out. Quote
Hebron MelloMom Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Personally, I think Marcus has a great show this year, but just has yet to really fine tune it. Their whole organization is awesome. Their parents and kids do a wonderful job. I heard that they were penalized in San An for not getting all of their props off in time, which is one reason their score came in lower than normal. I look forward to seeing them nail it in GNats. I'm confident that they'll be wonderful. 5 te 6 1 Quote

Popular Post FMHStsax Posted November 4, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 4, 2013 I have to disagree with some of your respones, I believe Marcus still had a pristine sound, but their show didn't require them to have the same Marcus show sound they had from previous years. Yes they got 8th in finals, at a competition that is harder than Grand Nationals. I watched 25 bands on Saturday and saw at least 15 that at any other BOA regional, should have made finals. I am a Flower Mound alumni and even though we are always competing against Marcus and Hebron, we give them much support and credit. Also a little birdie told me that the Marcus show was not complete, they supposedly still have half of a movement to put on the field for Grand Nat's. Of course this wasn't a direct comment from a member or director of that band, but I can safely assume that Amanda Drinkwater(Marcus head director) has something up her sleeves. BaritoneBro Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Ya I feel like Marcus possibly has something in store. The normal Marcus charm and extravagance seems to be missing. Hopefully they have a secret weapon to restore them. Quote
Popular Post ssreedtx Posted November 5, 2013 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2013 I just moved to the area recently, and I am SO impressed with how the Lewisville ISD bands support each other! Thanks for the answers. FloMoParent, BaritoneBro and 5 te 6 3 Quote
FloMoParent Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Some people were/are speculating that Marcus was "saving" something for Grand Nats. I am not a Marcus parent so I do not speak from any position of knowing what they are doing. Anyhow, we all wish them the best at Grand Nats. Scandia 1 Quote
Xela Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 They're show this year isn't as expected Xela 1 Quote
alto_sax Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 Marcus is definitely saving something for Grand Nats. Can't wait to see what it is! Quote
