manuel_pablo Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Quote Congratulations to all the bands who participated in San Antonio. This is one regional where I think the old "We are all winners in life" rings true. I was with our band (Westfield) so I didn't see every performance, but the ones I saw all excellent. I was with Westfield at grand nats two years ago, but I have never been more proud than I was last night after their performance. Due to a plane crash at Houston Hobby airport, our buses were pulled into service to transport Hobby passengers to Bush Intercontinental, and did not show up at Westfield as scheduled. Our last three buses rolled into the Alamodome at 8:00, and our kids were on the field performing at 8:15. They played their best performance of the year. They left the field with no regrets - gosh I'm getting choked up again just thinking of it! Thanks to Westfield's old friend Bill Watson of Richland for allowing us a chance to perform by trading performance times. Thanks to The Woodlands pit crew and Spring pit crew for your offers of assistance in unloading, setting up and moving the pit and props into the tunnel. Most of our student helpers were on the late buses, and had not yet arrived when the pit moved into the tunnel. Thanks to our sister school, Spring for your incredible vocal support, as well as all the other Westfield friends who showed up to cheer us on. It was an amazing experience to have witnessed so many class acts! ...quoted from the BOA forums. Thanks for everybody's support. Quote
Clarinot Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 So you guys pulled up 15 minutes before your performance time and were still able to unload, dress, etc? Wow! Nice work... Quote
mnkyman Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 yeah it was crazy.. every seat on the bus i was on (one of the late ones) was packed...every single seat..no kidding here... instead of pulling up to the warm up spots..we had like a 10 min music warm up right outside the tunnel..then hurried out to the tunnel...we normaly have a little bit of time when get to the tunnel..but last night..we walked in and right out on to the field.. it was an awesome experience.. oh i also had a near death experience...scared a couple friends..lol...one of those big elevators..(we were going up to the top) those elevators that are used for carrying equipment and supplies and stuff..yeah one of those almost closed on my head...AHHHH all in all..it was a great and tiring day.. THANKS RICHLAND Quote
Xenon Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 That's so amazing, because I thought that that performance was the best that I had seen from y'all this year. Quote

THANKS RICHLAND yea and all the compartments above us were full so some of us had our hat boxes under our seats and garment bags on our laps. When we parked right outside the tunnel I said,"Wow, we literally are getting off and going straight to to the field." hahaha Jacob said he was going to freak out if people didn't shut up in the freight elevators. I was starting to worry when the elevator doors wouldn't open....but they did lol Quote
