xMonicax Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 We had auditions last week for district/region (I dunno if its on different days for different regions), so how's everyone doing as far as all-state goes? Quote
Xukaniz Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Our Auditions are December 5th, and they are going pretty well for me, except for the fact that my lips are chapped, and have been for 3 days now. I havent practiced much so they can settle down; not helping at all though Quote
arundo Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Thanks for the reminder of auditions lol...ugh haha...Ours is Dec. 5..fun fun? not. Quote
Skippy Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 That reminded me, I forgot to practice today. This year I'm way more prepared than I have been in the past, I working my butt off to make state this year, seeing as how it's my last chance. Actually, since getting my wisdom teeth out a couple of weeks ago, I think my playing is suffering a little bit, especially with my high range. Auditions in one week, I hope I do allright. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I havent been practicing as much as I should be, but im gonna practice alot over the holiday and hopefully by Dec. 3 I'll be ready... Quote

(I feel stupid >.> ) Like EVERYONE that made region was from Chuchill and Reagan, it was kinda funny Quote
Moose Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 your region is region 12 the big kids are: Churchill Reagan Seguin Judson and the New Braunfels kids to some extent Quote
ClaireAnnette07 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Region 19 is brutal! Just an example: Last year, only ONE 4A clarinet made it into All Region (out of 48). I ended up making it, too, but I was an alternate so I didn't count myself in that Quote
TRtrumpet Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I've been wanting to practice but i've been wayyyyyyyyyy to lazy! I HAVE to practice tomorrow. Quote

stewiemylove Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 i don't like this music this year..... its hard, but boring, i get so tired of hearing it. Quote

Quote But isn't it somewhat detrimental to practice for long periods of time like that without breaks? - mm I dont know, I play a sax so its alot easier to go for a long time than on a brass. I'll take a few breaks tho. I realllllly want to make region this year. Quote
the_DRUM_MAJOR Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 well my key pads are starting to stick and messing up my sound..ugh.. i hate it when selmer bass clarinets dont come out as durable as theyre said to be... Quote
