How's Everyone Doin' With All-State?

We had auditions last week for district/region (I dunno if its on different days for different regions), so how's everyone doing as far as all-state goes?

Our Auditions are December 5th, and they are going pretty well for me, except for the fact that my lips are chapped, and have been for 3 days now. I havent practiced much so they can settle down; not helping at all though

That reminded me, I forgot to practice today.

 

This year I'm way more prepared than I have been in the past, I working my butt off to make state this year, seeing as how it's my last chance.

 

Actually, since getting my wisdom teeth out a couple of weeks ago, I think my playing is suffering a little bit, especially with my high range. Auditions in one week, I hope I do allright.

I was gonna practice tons over the thanksgiving break because I made region and my auditions are the monday I get back from break but... its not really happening... I'm just too lazy x_x

monica, what region are you in? my region starts next week but my district doesnt go until december 6th..i have to try out against clear lake and clear brook

I have no idea what region I am in x_x Uhhh... well I live in San Antonio, go to Reagan, so... eesh, whatever that region is. (I feel stupid >.> ) Like EVERYONE that made region was from Chuchill and Reagan, it was kinda funny

Region 19 is brutal! Just an example: Last year, only ONE 4A clarinet made it into All Region (out of 48). I ended up making it, too, but I was an alternate so I didn't count myself in that

Uhhhg, same here... I was planning on like 2 hour practices a day after auditions last thursday... I've practiced like... 20 minutes a day >.< meh

ive managed to go from 2-4:30 a day this whole week..but last year was insane..i worked like crazy 2-5 and 7-9..with occasional breaks lol..

But isn't it somewhat detrimental to practice for long periods of time like that without breaks?

Same here, its getting so boring and im trying to play it and not gettng anywhere.

I dont know, I play a sax so its alot easier to go for a long time than on a brass. I'll take a few breaks tho. I realllllly want to make region this year.

well my key pads are starting to stick and messing up my sound..ugh.. i hate it when selmer bass clarinets dont come out as durable as theyre said to be...

All of the region auditions should be this Thursday, Friday, Saturday, but they should be this week

wow 6 and 1/2....i bet you had some distractions every now and then...such as TV or 1 hr snack time? lol
