I just recently learned that it's actually not because of a football game, since TWCP and Oak Ridge are playing today against each other at Woodforest.

 

Apparently both are performing at the Sam Houston State Marching Festival in Huntsville tomorrow instead of Lonestar. Looking at the contest schedule, there should be no reason for them not to make the top 3. One of them is bound to win it because all the other schools are not particularly well known or good.

1. Dekaney H.S.
2.  Kempner H.S.
3. Seven Lakes H.S.
4. Klein Oak H.S.
5. Richland H.S.
6. Tompkins H.S.
7. Lafayette H.S.
8. Taylor H.S.
9. Stephen F. Austin H.S.
10. Clements H.S.

Very, very interesting! Would not have expected SFA to place so low!

Based on what I have seen, I would seriously bet that's in reverse order.

I was thinking that maybe it was finals performance order, though I would also be surprised to see Richland not make the top 5. Then again, they did miss out on finals at Arlington. I don't know.

I herd Seven Lakes got 7.5 points deducted because they took to long to get off the field. Can someone confirm this????

I think that was the order of the finals performances this evening.....my personal favorite was Lafayette!!!  A real crowd pleaser....

7.5 point seems like an abnormally large amount of point deductions. But would not be surprised if they got a penalty. They took a long time getting off that field.
