Going through the schedule

Cedar Ridge

Winston Churchill

Keller

The Woodlands

Ronald Reagan

Spring

The Woodlands College Park

Stephen F. Austin

Brazoswood

Claudia Taylor Johnson

are the ones that stick out the most to me, but Pearland, Cypress Falls, James E. Taylor, and Westfield (!) have all had success at this regional in the past, so they could definitely factor into the equation. Barring total meltdowns or miracles, which I haven't seen any signs of, Claudia Taylor Johnson or The Woodlands will win and will win all of the captions. Given the prelims time difference between the top 2, I wouldn't be surprised if there's another flip-flop. Honestly, I'm more interested in seeing how the other bands do, because there's more excitement in it.

I was looking at the predictions for BOA Conroe on your site and noticed that Westfield HS was left off the prediction list. Based on info from the BOA website, they are due to perform at this contest. Just wanted to let you know so you can update the list accordingly. Thanks.

Where did you find the judges for this ?

On the Music for All website, go to the Resources section and find the Director's Lounge. There, you will find links to Fall Final Packets, which are given to directors and contain information about schedules and judging panels. The links aren't activated until the info is finalized.

i don't think woodlands will be winning this one. not because they aren't good or whatever, but because they aren't attending finals, if they make it. at least that's what some people in the band told me. football game, i think. i'm inclined to believe them.

If I'm not mistaken from what I believe I've read on here in the past, TWHS's band is only allowed to miss so many football games a season - generally one or fewer. Knowing that they'll probably make playoffs and have to miss that for Grand Nationals, this would make sense as the show to miss.

How do you miss fewer than 1 game? Lol

By not missing any? Heh. Anyway, this really sucks, and I'm disappointed for the kids at The Woodlands, but when you think about it, winning this regional isn't really their end-goal. Everything they do this season is for another Eagle. One thing I will say is that this will make predictions for SA even more difficult than it already is. I suspect that CTJ will win in prelims, but you're not getting much of a direct comparison when 20 bands perform in between (see last year).

To be clear, I was writing stylistically by saying one or fewer, very well knowing that the only discrete "positive number" smaller than one is zero, to express that the Woodlands is not often allowed to miss a football game under any circumstances.

Fewer is defined as "of a smaller number". Zero is obviously a smaller number than one. So my conclusion from your frustrated sigh is that you were being both pedantic and inaccurate.

And my conclusion is you can't stand to be wrong and always want to be right plus always wanna have the last word. My first comment was meant as a sort of joke. And you could've just dropped it right after cause no one wants to see an argument on here. My sigh was my way of saying, "This isn't even worth arguing about so I'm just gonna end the conversation here".

Live Blog should still be going on today....just a little later in the morning.  Apologies to any early bird bands who were hoping for some commentary.
