principalagent Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 https://www.uiltexas.org/music/marching-band/state It looks as if 6A State may be a two day deal, which would be another school day lost for about 3000 students. My back of the hand calculations of scheduling and time constraints suggests that more than 32 bands might force the two day schedule (and definitely 35+). I'm curious how this will affect the bands headed to Indianapolis (so far, Bowie, Leander, Johnson, and Reagan) - they'll pretty much miss school all week. But all of them but Bowie shouldn't have to perform on Friday for San Antonio at least, given the rest have all won a regional in 2015. Quote
Xenon Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 This will help out a lot. The past two years ending so late has been extremely hard on everyone involved; kids, parents, directors, staff, bloggers, etc. The 1A/2A/3A day was absolutely insane and you could tell that the kids were extremely exhausted on the field as they performed.
