Open the .exe file first, because that's the actual program. However, when you open it, it will only be a demo, meaning you can't save, or anything like that. HOWEVER, after you have FL Studio, you open the .reg file, and that will turn FL Studio into the full version. If you follow the instructions that Fortissimo gave me, it should work. If not, come back with your questions, and we should be able to work this out. Hope that helped! - mm Quote
TRtrumpet Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Whoa... finale is takin along time. lol. oh well... Quote
Fortisimo Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Why waste your time with finale when I have posted links to much grander software? Quote
TRtrumpet Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 I was planning of getting both. I was going to download finale then download yours next becacause looking and mindfullmusicians post, it seems kinda confusing and im technologicaly stupid... lol. Quote
Fortisimo Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Lol, I understand. There is a lot to it, but as long as you follow the instructions it should go smoothly. Quote
Tx_state_euph_08 Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 what ever happened to simplicity? Noteworthy's a pretty simple programs that can compose and edit music pretty quickly...none of that crappy finale crap...and its also pretty easy to bypassthe whole demo mechanism. Quote
davidpowell Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Sheesh. Having good playback sounds is an excuse for not having good things to be played back. You shouldn't need it anyways. Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 Oh really!? Do you think so? Do you think that you can compose anything within a conceivable scope of what I compose? I highly doubt it. I wrote with Genreal midi synths for a very long time, I'll have you know. they sound fine to me, but some people care about what it will actually sound like when it's done. You talk real big, but I haven't seen you post any music as of yet. So, Mr. Bigshot, lets hear it. That is, if you think you can compare. Quote
davidpowell Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 Sorry, nothing of mine is horribly fast or loud, and thus wouldn't be of much interest to you. Just because you're the only person who posts in this forums a lot that composes doesn't mean you're "king composer", so to speak. Settle down sparky. Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I still don't see you offering anything up. I don't claim to be the "king composer", I just claim that you haven't shown yourself to be anything as of yet. So you may think your witty, or cunning in your little sidestep here, but I'm not an idiot. Your clearly evading the issue. So let's hear something, anything, you've written. I'm sure it will speak for itself. I hate to be so caustic, but you are making rather large, albeit indirect accusations here, and I simply won't stand for it. Thus, I feel I must call your credibility into question. Quote
davidpowell Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I'm sidestepping because I know the general populus of this forum generally enjoys fast, loud, marching band music. Reading "Should a marching show have a slow movement?" or whatever that poll was further confirmed this. But if I must, I can show you some things I'm working on. I would show you something that's finished, but I don't think any of it is very good anymore. http://www.geocities.com/kingsmello/index.html The sonata is possibly going to be one movement of several. The atonal sketch is a quirky little thing I've been messing around with for wind ensemble. Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Now we're talking. This Sonata is quite nice; a little difficult for the French Horn, lol, but maybe I just think that because nearly all ours all suck pretty badly... It has a lot of interesting ideas. I like the piano parts especially. You make good use of the ostinato techniques. Ending is a bit abrupt, but that's alright. Atonal is pretty cool. I like the part where it all sort of falls into place really well starting at :30. It fits well together. I assume it's unfinished... you may want to reowrk a little bit of the beginning. Other than that, I enjoyed it. Nice work overall. Quote
manuel_pablo Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I LOVE FL Studio for playback. If I have something saved as .mus I just save it as a midi and import it into FL for playback. Playback is so much better than Finale. Thanks for telling us about it. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 The trumpet on finale sounds like crap. Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Lol, yeah, for some reason trumpet synths are usually pretty bad. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I think im going to attempt to download the FL studio tomorrow night. It sounds pretty sweet. Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Be sure to refer to all the instructions we've left. Just ask if you need any additional help. Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 The first program I used for music composition was a very simple GUI setup like that... but it didn't have near the functionality that I wanted or even needed, so I worked my way up until I eventually ended up with the setup I have now. It works well for me. Quote
MartinHorn Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I just tried and it said deleted because of a long no download period. think you could upload again? Quote
MartinHorn Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 FL studio 4.5.1, the installer, and Parts 2 and 3 of the Eridol Orchestral VSTi plugin. Have no idea how the first didn't get deleted. I downloading that one now. Quote
Fortisimo Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 ummmm, maybe later. That stuff took f---ing forever to upload, and I'm rather busy right now. Quote
MartinHorn Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 what about emailing me? or would that take a f---ing long time also? If you can send it matteo817@hotmail.com Quote
