After now seeing leander,cedar park, and ctj from this past Friday (the 16th) I personally think this is gonna be a slug fest between CTJ and leander especially in visual and GE. However I definitely believe that cedar park could steal the music caption and steal a silver, and I believe the same is true with Round Rock and the visual caption.

Wouldn't be surprised, they did it last year after all. I was unaware Vandergrift and Vista Ridge were 4a now.

Looking at the caption spread for 4A my guess is Leander was first for prelims. Probably not even a point difference between the top 5, this regional is ridiculous!

Well............bottom half of finals is nowhere near what I expected.  At all.  Remotely.  In any way.

Marcus and Hebron better watch out at State. Vandegrift was absolutely incredible in finals. Ridiculously clean and awfully strong.

 

Leander and CTJ are off to impressive starts too. They'll both go way far with complete shows and refining. Two more than solid shows for GN.

Looks like this may be the year LISD makes the jump from dominating 5A to dominating the entire state. 4 of top 6. Top 2. Let's see what they can do at the Alamodome.

Two stories for me personally.

 

Vandegrift with their first regional win and a MONSTER show in marching and music technicality.  They will rack up wins in BOA and UIL all year long.

 

And Hendricksons INCREDIBLY well designed, performed, and entertaining show.  They were my personal favorite today.  They are going to have an amazing season this year.

We may end up seeing another long back and forth battle between leander and vandegrift like leander and cp last year. Leander won pre lims by over 2 points but lost finals by one. These guys could flip flop all season, exciting!!
