TexasTromboner Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 So someone forgot to put the full results up on the website but here are awards and rankings. Gotta say that the judges were harsher than years past but still some really good bands again this year, please keep coming back Ratings(2).pdfFetching info... Awards(3).pdfFetching info... Quote
snares Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I haven't seen any actual scores so if anyone has those that would be dandy to see. I've heard from my very reliable sources on twitter (sarcasm implied) that Forney beat Hebron in guard and McKinney stole a 1 from one of the music judges. Hebron won the percussion judge and visual judge and basically everyone else I'' guessing, but still that's darn surprising to me that anyone could've put anyone else in front of Hebron. I'm thinking they found something they didn't like (the music judge) and then just followed it the whole show. No one in the state plays as hard woodwind music as Hebron. And they are incredible. Especially at that competition I couldn't see and didn't see anyone who I felt was really even close. Don't get me wrong. McKinney and Lewisville showed me things from them that I've never seen before. But my point still stands. From a color guard stand point, I think Hebron has a reputation for having a little bit of a weaker guard than band, and Forney has one of the best dang color guards in the state. So that didn't surprise me. Quote
