3 hours and 4 stitches later... I’ll be exploring the bandaid aisle tomorrow to figure out a way to cover and pad/protect her stitches and hopefully not be too noticeable...

Just to be funny you should get really bright, loud band-aids to annoy her, and keep the concealable ones hidden except for performances only :)

That would be hilarious.

So I didn't witness this, but one of our band medics had to step in to help. At a contest to remain nameless, there are these holes, I'm assuming for posts, in the concrete on the parking lot probably to block traffic when needed. That day, the holes were open. A band was marching ahead of ours, and not seeing the danger, a girl's foot went down a hole. Let's just say immediate, serious first aid and an ambulance was needed.  :o

This summer the wife and I were volunteering at a DCI show in Madison WI.  Our job was to assist with the groups getting on and off the field and navigate a small hill.  After one group was done, there were 2 girls quickly heading off the field with one of them holding on to a girl who had obviously busted some teeth out during the show.  Hand to her mouth and filled with blood dripping everywhere telling her helper "what was I supposed to do????" as they were directed to the medics.

I have a DCI story from a friend of mine. He marched contra with Oregon Crusaders in 2018, when they did REDRUM. During warmup before a performance, he split his lip on his mouthpiece, and marched a full performance with blood running down his face before he would let anyone look at it. I still like to tease him about it giving them an unfair GE advantage :)

Guard is truly so dangerous!
