zvchy Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Although they missed finals by .8 points, Hutto had an extremely strong showing this past weekend. They placed 11th in prelims, and beat out Connally, Bryan, and East View, all 3 of which Hutto has never beaten before and were ranked 8th for overall General Effect. They performed well, and in my opinion deserved a spot in finals. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do these next few weeks. Quote

Not necessarily bad, but different in terms of funding and priority. Quote

It's a shame how far they have fallen. Quote

Do you think they have a shot of advancing to state? I have not seen their show, but based on this result I would be wary. By my quick count, there are 36 5A bands in Area D (Regions 11, 12, 18, 26, 29 and 32). So that is a maximum of 7 slots for State, more likely 5 or 6. In my estimation... Locks: Cedar Park, Dripping Springs Next ones up: Georgetown, Rouse, McCallum Then: Hutto, Connally, McCollum Does Ann Richards compete at 5A for UIL??? If so, they could be in the mix as well. Quote
