LeanderMomma Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Anyone else watching this on FloMarching? I was really impressed with the Beech Grove HS band from Indiana! Especially that sax soloist in the Chandelier ballad--whoa, someone check his birth certificate! But man, can he play. Quote
Marching Observer Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Currently watching live and have to agree that Beech Grove had a great run! Also some great performances by Floyd Central and Greenwood in that first block. LeanderMomma 1 Quote
Hard Core Band Fan Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 If you're interested, I have attached a combined schedule of the St. Louis and Indianapolis Super Regionals to help decide which bands to watch. For me, it's easier to see them side by side and know when everyone is playing so that I can switch. I have adjusted the Indianapolis schedule for the hour difference and the times shown are CST. Hard Core Band Fan Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Homestead had a nice show. Awesome flute soloist. Also, I've seen hand bells before, but never an ice skater. Quote
LeanderMomma Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 Well that was a first for me. An ice skater in a marching show?! It was a great production though from Homestead! Quote

They really didn't show her very much and I found it fascinating and would have loved to have seen more. You are right about the flute--she was great. And that original music? Wow, it was fantastic!! I can see why Homestead regularly makes finals at GN. Quote

Thanks! I was particularly nerdy this morning and made myself a list of which bands from each super regional that were MUST see's so I wouldn't miss anything. Fortunately, I remembered that we are on CST here in Texas and Indianapolis is on EST. Quote

Hard Core Band Fan Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Another first with me with O'Fallon Township completely covering the field with white tarps. Nice show and very visually appealing. Quote
Hard Core Band Fan Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 FLO Marching, once again, played adds during the streaming of O'Fallon Township. They've done this on every BOA event I've watched. Didn't get to watch the last 3rd of their show. Quote

Wanted to see my friend and O'Fallon colorguard! Oh well, maybe I will see them in finals or surely at Grand Nats on FLO. Quote

When asked, FLO Support said they do that to keep the subscription costs down. No apology or anything like that. To add insult to injury, they stated what a "gift' my feedback was. I let them know that the ads were no gift to me! Quote

Marching Observer Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 There have certainly been some surprisingly good performances here today that I wasn't expecting too much out of. I'm always happy to be surprised and proved wrong. In a good way anyway. Hard Core Band Fan 1 Quote

There are approximately 5 minutes between each band when they could play all the ads they wanted! Quote
AvonDad Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 For you non Indiana locals and FloMarchers.... check out Lawrence Township at 8:30/7:30 for a fun show. Its my daughters favorite as its based on Rumpelstiltskin and they seem to have a lot of fun in the show. Its quite different from what I'm used to seeing from them, but very well done. For those who can remember, Lawrence Township was formed from Lawrence Central and Lawrence East bands a few years ago. The 2 schools still exist, but their band is now combined. I'm am looki ng foward to Castle at 9/8 for their "Fly to Paradise" show after they lost their singer/flute soloist in the accident on their way home from Grand Nats. This time they have a single flutist on the field and you hear the echos. TWHSParent 1 Quote

LeanderMomma Posted October 21, 2017 Author Posted October 21, 2017 Center Grove was...interesting. How on earth did they do an entire show on a half circle tarp? Quote
Marching Observer Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 I hope no ads play for you during any shows LeanderMomma! Center Grove just gave a great performance. A great design that I think only a few bands can pull off and they are nailing it. First show of theirs I've really enjoyed the past few years. AvonDad 1 Quote
AvonDad Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Having got to see Center Grove live, it is an interesting show and does keep your attention. It honestly reminded me of the broadway show Blast!. They have a tremendous drum program and their visuals are great with the diferent uniform colors. There are a lot of different styles on the field this season. Quote
