Where do band seniors go to die (or do whatever) once they've finished their last marching season? Idk what to do with myself

Two whole classes of kids have come and gone from my alma mater since I graduated, and I’m still attending BOAs. I went to college in a relatively devoid BOA area of the country (though very strong for USBands), but started attending Area and BOA SA while home on break towards the end of my time in college. I fell in love with the art itself while I was in high school, which it made it exceedingly difficult for me to shake upon graduation relative to someone for which it was simply an extracurricular. Additionally, my high school band experienced a huge renaissance since my graduation (and pretty sure I’m outing my affiliation here), which further held my interest in the activity.

Now, I’m about to leave the state again for grad school, so last weekend was my last SA for a while, and this weekend *might* be my last Grand Nationals for a while depending on where I end up. Back to webcasts!

They go on DCI and BOA world tours (ok, Texas/Oklahoma tours) with their mom and find an entirely new and different appreciation for the activity. ;)

As Takigan inferred, you'll be posting on a marching band forum (or the equivalent at the time) 30 years later. :)   My senior season of marching band was 1988, so I'm almost there. Things have changed, but it is still marching band at the core. Life is going to present you with opportunities and challenges, and you'll start focusing more on those. Some years you won't pay much attention to marching band season, and some years you'll do nothing but watch the shows and countdown to the next contest. Ups and downs...

jf you’re anything like me (music major) your last marching season is never done, and you’ll likely be a band parent one day as well, and drum corps is always a possibility along with college band. Just because you’re not performing doesn’t mean it’s over :)

Both my older kids just hung up their instruments to go into pre-med and engineering.

They did still do band and color guard their spring semester, but they focused on figuring out which college they would accept.
