Really!? Wow! That's very surprising to me.

Odessa Permian tied the 3rd place band in prelims and finals, just didn’t have enough judges to advance on the judges preference rule.

So I'm thinking Flower Mound, Hebron, Vista Ridge, Vandegrift, and Reagan fight it out for the medals.

I think Keller and The Woodlands will be up there too.

I have dug around and can't seem to find any info....Does anyone know the regulations for what spectators can bring to UIL State in terms of spirit items? Thank you!

Balloons are prohibited. There is an actual regulation written for this. Generally, you don’t want to bring spirit items that will make a lot of noise (cow bells, air horns).

No noisemakers. And I'm pretty sure the Alamodome will not permit any sticks or poles (like for flags) of any kind.

True. There is a Clear Bag Policy at the Alamodome so keep that in mind.

I know that the Alamodome will not allow you to bring in anything with a rigid stick. If you have a poster with a holding stick or for bracing, they will make you remove them at the entrance. As far as noise makers - Cow bells, ratchets, air horns, or anything else - I don't know what is allowed, but many judges hate them. If you want to risk your band's chances by doing that, it's your choice. When someone in my kid's band was using a cow bell, the judge highly criticized us for allowing our parent to do it. These guys are sitting there all day viewing band after band and to risk irritating them is just not worth it. Excessive yelling and screaming out messages to your child is not a good thing as well. Tell them you love them in person. They are on the field concentrating on doing their best and don't need the distraction, either.

I'd say Coppell and Reagan's spots could change mainly due to their early times, but when has either of them not made State Finals? Interesting to see how Leander does considering their performance at area, same with Keller.

Reagan did not make state finals in 2010.

Ouch early morning for us....

Yeah, but at least we'll be there and not busing out at 2am.

And the key thing from prelims is to make finals. Top 12 is what matters. Going first sucks, but finals is very possible even so. Then finals will even out the perform time deltas.

I saw them at Area E finals and they are CRAZY good. Its not weird at all. Like last year, Pearland is peaking at the right time.

Don’t count us out just because of a wonky UIL judging yesterday. ;)

Pearland has pink props, so they get my support.

A lot of y’all are predicting Waxahachie to do really well. I’ve never seen any of their shows and we’ve never had to compete with them though, so I can’t make much of a judgement. Just out of curiousity, what makes them so good?
