After seeing Marcus at Mesquite in my opinion they seem a lot weaker than their usual down years, which is strange because they tend to be more refined this time of season during a state year. With Drinkwater gone other bands might have the opportunity to leapfrog over them. If this happens anything is possible this season.

I think loosing such an influential director is really hard on them.....I really feel bad for these kids but Marcus is Marcus they’ll find their way back

I agree they are a great program and has been one for years, I think with the right show and new outlook both musically and visually they have the ability to come back swinging, I mean look at Bowie I think they are a great example of a bounce back after a director change.

Question why is haltom just disappeared? Like I read in the earlier comments way back and they were put up there ?? What happened ?

I know!!!!! Haltom has done great and did super well at Atlanta last year. I don’t know how they keep getting discounted from finals.

I did see how in the beginning because that weren’t doing as well . But the design and music of the show is incredible. And I don’t think people should go off of one contest really when nobody has really actually seen them and won’t until next Saturday !

because this is the most competitive SR in in the country and there are a limited number of spots

Tbh the improvement they last week was incredible and I heard they’re gonna be at AT&T stadium this Sunday so I’m gonna be checking that out......it’s really smart for them to practice there in preparation for the Alamodome

I wanna know how this is even possible tho. Doesn’t that cost a lot of money ?

The acoustics of AT&T are dramatically different than the Alamodome.

The acoustics of AT&T stadium live up to its nickname "The Death Star"  I don't know how this would really help.

I was at the stadium for the Arkansas vs Texas A&M game this year.  I was in the lower level near the field and you can't hear what is being performed.  Sitting in the stands a couple sections away from the Razorback Band I still had difficulty hearing what they were playing.

My hubby and I are big Razorback fans.  :)  We keep meaning to get up there for that game every fall, but so far have not managed to do so.

Lifelong Razorback fan, I am from Arkansas and both of my kids go to the UofA

I don’t think it’s for acoustic reasons. I think it’s to see what it feels like to have to listen in hard situations in any type of dome. And challenge themselves which could help with listening abilities

Agreed. That place is where sound goes to die.  I've been there for a high school playoff game, sitting in the lower bowl and could barely hear the bands on the field.  It was like listening from the receiver end of the phone.

That's awesome!  My hubby is from Arkansas as well.  (I am a Memphis girl).  We met in Searcy, Arkansas (at Harding University).

You’re right but being in that dome is closer than being in no dome
