It’s about that time! Share any and all realeased information about upcoming 2018 BOA shows. Please no rumors or information that hasn’t been publically released.

 

If a band doesn’t want thier show out there, don’t put it out there.

Do bands really announce their themes this early?  I'm trying to remember when we would have our big theme announcement at Leander.  Seems like it was towards the end of April.  And we were usually one of the first.  But it will be here before you know it!

-Round Rock High School 2018- "dRĔáM"

 

-They will dissolve their Varsity/JV format and integrate both bands into one next year.

CORRECTION: The JV band will still exist, but will also assist their Varsity band at all competitions.

 

-They will have new Uniforms next year as well.

Exciting stuff! I’m glad to hear that they are going back to the days of having just the one band and I can’t wait to see their new uniforms. Someone in the program said last fall that the dragon would continue to be incorporated into the new uniform somehow. Round Rock’s uniforms are iconic so I’m sure they’ll be amazing! Leander is supposedly getting new uniforms as well this fall. Can’t wait for the unveiling!

Correction: Round Rock is not "dissolving" their JV band program. They will still have 2 marching bands in the Fall. JV will still work on a separate show to be performed at the halftimes of football games. The only change to the program is that ALL JV band students will also have a role to play in the Varsity show next year. So JV students will get the opportunity to perform with the Varsity band.

I know that many directors and their staff already know the next year's show theme a good bit in advance, but I don't think most share it with the band members and their parents until Springtime.  It would be hard to keep that a secret!  I guess they don't anyway, unless they don't care if it's a secret?  I shouldn't speak for every band!

I live in the Killeen area (Killeen, Harker Heights, Belton, Temple, Copperas Cove, etc) and I haven't heard anything as far as show announcements but I will let y'all know!!!

I am so happy to finally show everyone my band's show (Lumberton). We literally found out tonight during our band banquet.

 

Our show title is "A Dream Within A Dream"
