LeanderMomma Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 2018: well, hmmm Band parent show reveal complete. Director and new assistants named. I am not at liberty to divulge anything and my head is going to explode! I can divulge that the 1st payment for 2018 is due tomorrow though. Gosh RudeDog. That’s just...RUDE! Come on...just one little hint? Quote
SamuelCulper Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Vista Ridge had their preview tonight. Sounded fantastic, definitely something good going on there. Can't wait for marching season! LeanderMomma and Mash 2 Quote
LeanderMomma Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Judging from a video I just watched, cedar park has something a little special this year... I am going to have to agree with you! Looks like some dark carnival theme of some sort... What video? Quote
josephbandfan Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 I am going to have to agree with you! Looks like some dark carnival theme of some sort... Im already so in love with the music and the theme . I love "The Show Must Go On" so much. Quote
LeanderMomma Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Is CTJ doing something similar? I've heard several Johnson band parents reference "The Greatest Show On Earth" today on Facebook. Quote
MadisonBandMan1 Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 I am going to have to agree with you! Looks like some dark carnival theme of some sort... Yep that's the video. Sorry I forgot to send it I was busy with school. Finals... Quote
HighSchoolBandNerd212 Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Vandegrift: I'm no marching contest judge by any means, but they sound scary good for only three days of working on the music. Also, does any recognize the music they are playing? It is definitely a departure from their usual repertoire of "standard classical music" (for lack of better terminology), though to be clear, I love whatever they are playing. Quote
HighSchoolBandNerd212 Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Also, I apologize if the video doesn't show on some of y'all's browsers. I'm having similar issues to what LeanderMomma had, and the video doesn't show on my end. Quote
LeanderMomma Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Leander was sounding superb last night as well. A parent sent me a video as I'm out of town and missed the parent preview for the first time in 6 years. Quote

tmhs2019 Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Tomball Memorial presents Clair de Loon, it’s about schizophrenia and includes Claire de Lune, Serenade Schizophrana, and has deep, dark, and twisted chords. A real haunting show! I’m excited! LeanderMomma 1 Quote

CTJBandPops Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 CTJ is leaving the rain forest of last year for the "Tremendous Sea of Love" - this season cannot start soon enough to see all these great programs in 2018 Quote
tmhs2019 Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 Sounds interesting! Which competitions will we see y’all at? We will be competing in Area F and we are a Houston area band that has gone to state for 5A every time for the past 7/8 years whenever we opened. I’m not sure but there was some talk of BOA this year, we definitely have amped up on our sounds even from state last year, but as a new 6A this will be a tough year as we take on the Woodlands and some other strong schools in our area. LostChoirGuy Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 I forgot Tomball Memorial was moving up to 6A. They will be one to watch in Area F for sure. Great things happening in that program. Quote

I hope Tomball Memorial can shake up Area F, they have a solid band staff and just got a new drill writer who writes for the Cavaliers too, so something is definitely going right in that program. I agree with you that they could be a force in area F for sure. Quote
bandgeekofthecentury Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Parent and student announcement for Seven Lakes was a couple of weeks ago, and the theme is very out of the box, but I'm confident in a good season Quote
