And as of today, it is supposed to be clear in the morning, 40% chance of rain in the afternoon, and cloudy in the evening, but only about 10% chance of rain. If this holds, then we have a really good shot at a full contest.

When are the boa Conroe predictions gonna be up on the predictions page? Such a tight competition needs predictions

I submitted the contest but haven't seen or heard anything about the prediction going up.

Wow....all these predictions of The Woodlands winning it all at Conroe have me super anxious to see them.

Looking forward to seeing Reagan as well.  Wish I could be there in person this year!

I haven’t seen a performance on YouTube of SFA, Oak Ridge and Pearland. Dawson looks pretty good from that friendswood contest so I’m curious as how the above mentioned schools sound like since they topped them.

That's what I've been asking to, isn't it this upcoming Saturday? Approximately when do predictions come out?

I'll take a crack on these predictions:

1. The Woodlands

2. Vandegrift

3. Ronald Reagan

4. James Bowie

5. Pearland

6. Winston Churchill

7. Cy-Fair

8. Stephen F Austin

9. Oak Ridge

10. Bubble

1-3 Are very flexible and could all be in the hunt for a win. I think James Bowie will sit at 4 based off of what they did in Austin and overall what they bring to the table. 5-9 are also very flexible, and I would still consider them locks. Pearland was a crowd favorite at Friendswood last weekend and didn't even have there whole show (unlike SFA, who looks good). It's going to be another great year for Pearland. Cy-Fair has had a few great years and Oak Ridge also looked great at Friendswood. 10 is a total bubble to me, including:

Seven Lakes

Friendswood

Clear Brook

James E. Taylor

College Park

I have not seen the Woodlands but I am assuming a bounce back from last year - and a strong bounce at that.

Vandy was strong last week and Bowie is coming back. I saw the full show tonight for Reagan - very strong music- I am guessing 350+ on the field but it is a very UIL oriented show, minimal props not a lot of risk in the marching and the marching in the closing half was not as clean as the first half - still a work in progress

should be a great show this weekend in Conroe

For us, think a show more like 2016's On the Waterfront, but we are ~2-3 weeks ahead of where we were that year at this point (in my opinion). That show really came together late, whereas this one is coming along well from the get-go. We also have the added benefit of no hurricane this year vs last, which has done nothing but help. A little rain here and there hasn't been a problem comparatively. :)

always been a fan of the TWHS programs, not just for the music but the fact that they are a class act organization. I will apologize if this too sappy a story for this forum

my daughters senior year they they took music and 2nd in prelims and TWHS took Visual and GE and 1st place - after prelims TWHS invited them back to the campus to hang out in the band hall - they made them feel welcome even though they would be competing against each other later that night - CTJ swept captions and took first in Finals to win their first ever BOA championship in just their 7th year and TWHS was the reigning grand nats champion.

That night CTJ performed their encore after retreat and TWHS sat in the stands and cheered them on - a month later CTJ won the BOA SA SR. I have a framed photo in my study of them receiving the award in SA and in the background TWHS and CTJ are entwined as one as they break ranks and congratulate each other. TWHS again, sat in the stands and cheered on CTJ's encore performance with vigor and excitement when they still had a 4 hour bus ride home waiting for them.

that is the value of the marching arts and what it teaches our kids - and why I remain active in the program with no children actively involved

I was excited to see that CTJ had planned to return to Conroe this year - but it was not in the cards. I had hoped to take the family to see the show, but we are hosting a band charity event that night - I am sure that Flo Marching will be on my laptop and we will be cheering for TWHS

Good Luck on Saturday - we look forward to seeing TWHS in the dome

These are exactly the stories that matter most. Thank you for sharing this one!

Agree but switch Vandy and TWHS

How are they looking this year?

From what I’ve heard, and I after seeing their homecoming night exhibition, they are miles better right now than where they were last year in October. TWHS is usually a late season bloomer and this year they are already at such a strong level. Someone mentioned it earlier, but their brass line is more balanced than it has been the past 3 years. I’d say TWHS is a force to be reckoned with this year.
