Bandnerd03 Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 It got quite a bit of love in the early 2010s, but I’d really love to see New Moon in the Old Moon’s Arms utilized more. The only notable performances of it I can think of since Cedar Ridge in 2013 have been North Shore and Galena Park playing it last year, and both did a great job with it. Look up Lawrence Central 2001. It's the best use of that piece on the field. It's also notable in the fact that they won GN without winning any captions. Quote
lost Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Maybe a bit hard to do and would take some arranging, but Thank You For The Music by ABBA could be powerful if done right Quote

Cedar Ridge 2013 is the most underrated BOA show I have ever seen... but your definitely right, that piece is full of untapped music general effect potential. Quote
SpartanBandAlum Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Cedar Ridge 2013 is the most underrated BOA show I have ever seen... I agree 100%! People seem to forget how amazing that show was (5th in Semis at Nats is nothing to sneeze at)! Quote
LeanderMomma Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 This is probably not the right thread but I’m going to repeat my long held belief that video game music is some of the most incredibly beautiful music out there today. Have you heard this music by Mikolai Stroinski from The Witcher 3? Quote
An Inspirational Pinecone Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 I'd honestly love it if more shows used the Interstellar soundtrack. I think it's one of the best movie soundtracks of all time yet I've only seen it once in a marching show, and that was when the Blue Devils played a small portion of it in 2017 LeanderMomma 1 Quote

LeanderMomma Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 We need an entire show based on Irish music. Quote

lost Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 I am dying to see a huge marching band moment using One Republics “Secrets” I can see it being used for a big dramatic extravagant climax to a show and I’d love jt abbytheflute 1 Quote

Trombones/Synthesizers, perhaps. Quote

An Inspirational Pinecone Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Honestly, it'd likely just be a recording or pre made track, but if woodwinds could achieve something like that, it would be insanely impressive. Quote
SpartanBandAlum Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 I’d love to see an entire show based around music from N64/GameCube-era Legend of Zelda music LeanderMomma 1 Quote
MadisonBandMan1 Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Man I would love to see either a DCI group or an elite marching band do this original composition that performed by Christopher Bill and written by Seth E. Brown. Its AMAZING!!! https://youtu.be/3A9m2wvFSMU. Ps — yes, that is me that he shouted out. josephbandfan 1 Quote
LKendrick Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I just got done with playing all the Dark Souls/Bloodborne games. Some fantastic music in there, especially in the latter. Will always want to hear more video game stuff on the field, there is some amazing stuff in there. These definitely stuck out to me: josephbandfan 1 Quote
abbytheflute Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 As a Star Wars fan, I would love to see John Williams' Across the Stars as a ballad Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 There is a very strange choral piece that I think could make a really cool band arrangement (albeit difficult). It is called Cantate Domino by Tarik O'Regan. I have tried writing an arrangement, but I am just not talented at writing for instrumental groups, since I don't have experience with most of the instruments. Quote
SpartanBandAlum Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 I’d love to see some of Ola Gjello’s choral arrangements put on the field Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 I just wish that Morten Lauridsen allowed his pieces to be adapted for marching band. He has a number of incredible works that would make for great additions to the activity. Quote
Magma31651 Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 I want to see any of Daft Punk's score from Tron Legacy on a marching field. I think that would be amazing to hear Quote
