MartinHorn Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I've heard from some people that a Drum Corps is starting in texas called the Trinity or something. Can anyone elaborate on this? Quote
Dynasty Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 http://www.trinitydbc.org/ They are in Seguin. Quote
MartinHorn Posted December 11, 2005 Author Posted December 11, 2005 Their 2006 show sounds interesting. Quote
Fortisimo Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Lmfao, you would say that Julian. Stories from the old home, eh? I kid, of course. But yeah, it does sound pretty cool. Quote
QuadraticBeats Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I plan to march with them this year... I did not research enough, and didn't make a back-up plan in the case of the YEA! auditions here in Texas being cancelled... and that's exactly what happened. So, I am just going for whatever I can get into now. I just really need an excuse to play quads all day without anyone asking me to do anything else. The camaraderie, traveling, competing, and development of skills and character interest me very much... Quote
bored2damax Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Are Trinity and Revolution both in the same Divsion because i was going back to go try out for Denver for Blue Knights but i cant because i have Mid Term the week after that camp, so i decided to try out for revolution because its like 30 minutes from here in seguin. their camp is going to be held in marion highschool/middle school. not sure which one. anyone from revolution want to add on??? I'd have to ask my snare friend at our school... but there are still auditions this weekend, and probably open spots... only a dozen people (all sections) showed up to audition at the last audition camp (which was a time where I still thought I was going to get to audition for the Crossmen). I think they're taking a max of forty total people (entire corps) or so, though I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to take more, if more showed up. Quote
thesnareguy Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 ah. yeah there are. but unfourunuatly(AHFHAOEFHJLADcant splel) im leavin to california on saturday morning so i cant tryout. it sucks. ps do u have aim and just havent posted it Quote

I don't really know, though. I do have AIM, but I never use it. I am still probably going to do Trinity (first off, travel issues for other corps, second, I have a friend in our snare line who joined them, and they won't be having to compete in division II and most notably against Arizona Academy... which is staffed with a bunch of ex-blue devils, a juillard pit instructor (sorry if I butchered Juillard's name... since they don't have marching percussion, they're not my goal of a school however good they are... too many rich people also. Maybe I'm just being arrogant about being a middle class kid, but oh well), ex-vanguard, and one or two who worked at some time with Cavvies, Regiment, Cadets). Everyone else in Division II will have it rough this season. I wonder if Arizona academy will go division I next year, or just choose to likely continued domination in division II... I really should've researched more corps early on instead of being obsessed with Division I... research the staff and you can get an idea of what corps would be good to your own progression to join. Trumpet Master Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I think our former percussion tech, John McClain, is working with them, but i'm not sure. Quote
FrontierDirector Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Trinity is a Division III corps, they were exhibition last year, applying to be on the DCI Schedule this year Revolution was DCI Division III last year, and looks like they could be too large this year and go Division II Frontier is an Open Class DCA corps in Dallas, and Gulf Coast Sound is a Class A Corps in Houston. Austin Stars is a new project starting up, and will be a DCA corps in 2007 Quote
GCS-Euph Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 *waves at Chris* Thanks for the link to this board. Anyone in the Houston area looking to march a DCA corps this summer check out the link in my sig. Quote
QuadraticBeats Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I tried out and was offered a position on the tenor line, which I took. We still have a bunch of open spots (particularly contra/euph, bassline, and pit), though, and we're having a January camp where we're accepting new members. Here's their site, with more information on the Corps. http://www.trinitydbc.org Quote
