If what Ive been hearing is true. One judge “ruined” it for the Trinity band. Ive heard they got 6th, 7th, and 9th rankings but there was a 22nd place judge that said they sounded like a football band

Yes, but they did not place in the top ten in marching from either judge. The scores are all over the place for almost every band.

These rankings are inaccurate.

How are you guys finding the scores for prelims bands? Any link?

Prelims results are not made available to the public until after Area Finals are over.

We were tied for 21st place or came in 23rd.

To say our kids were disappointed would be an understatement. They basically took their dinner on the bus and headed home.

It’s frustrating when you have judges not give one piece of negative criticism but then put you at the bottom. At least tell us what they need to work on.

I was super happy to see Mansfield make it. My friend’s daughter is on the guard and they did not expect to final. They were hanging around because they knew Summit probably would.

I’m surprised by Duncanville with the equipment failure but glad they got their 2nd chance!

Keller tore twice tonight, very shaky performance for them. In my opinion, could knock them out of state. Prosper tore in their ballad, but not as bad as Keller. It seemed like woodwinds echo brass, so not as bad as Keller. I think they will most likely get 5th, maybe 6th. Waxahachie had interference with their mics, and woodwinds came in early in the last note. Watching Duncanville Now

LOL, it’s a good thing you aren’t a judge because you have NO CLUE about musicality. I have heard the Waxahachie show numerous times and it was as perfect as I have ever heard it. Keller was amazing. Prosper was amazing. Sour grapes.

Equipment failure does not impact the score all that much because most of the time its completely out of the kid's hands. It might make the difference between 5th and 6th, but not enough to kick someone from 5th to 11th. Unless the 5-11 placements are within a point or something. Sometimes cables short out, microphones don't work, the stadium power doesn't work, etc. And judges, especially in UIL, are juding music and marching, not GE, which a lot of electronics fall into.

I understand the disappointment so I won't say they shouldn't be upset but this competition was brutal...there are truly no "losers" at Area B

Best of luck the rest of this season.

Do you know the numbers?

7 and 9 were the accurate ones. The third music score was 22. But all of scores were similar. Most bands had at least 1 judge place them in finals. A lot had 2.
