PSHSMom Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Wow... 3 weekends in row. What's a band to do? Quote
PSHSMom Posted September 22, 2018 Author Posted September 22, 2018 Well the good news is I think we are officially out of the drought LeanderMomma 1 Quote
LeanderMomma Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 It started pouring during the 4th quarter of the Leander vs Cedar Ridge game tonight. We got to see Leander at half time, but it was Cedar Ridge’s homecoming so they weren’t scheduled to perform their show until after the game. We ended up leaving due to the heavy rain that started halfway through the 4th quarter. :/. So bummed to miss their show! Quote
8to5brass Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 The Tomball Memorial v Bryan game was delayed by an hour for lightening delays and at halftime TMHS only performed the first movement and Bryan did not perform at all Quote
Dog885 Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 At our game at Hays last night, there was lightning 10 miles away from the stadium right as we're about to play our show so we had to pack up the equipment, evacuate inside for 30-45 minutes, and then continue the game without playing our show. Quote
Rudedog34 Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Vista Ridge show at halftime was great. Henny was scheduled to play post game. Around 2 minute warning game suspended because of lightning. We were all soaked and were going to put the show on the field anyway. Delay after delay. Packed it up and headed home. 1 public show for this season. Sorry Daniel, Austin needs to be dry and sunny. LeanderMomma 1 Quote

LeanderMomma Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 It’s weird but Leander has been able to march every single football game since the end of August. The rain either holds off til we’re done, or it skirts right around us. Last week, it literally poured out on the street and over the high school, but only sprinkled a bit in Bible Stadium. It’s been a little bizarre! But we’re grateful!! Quote
Rudedog34 Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Well, that could be good news or bad news. We're at Bible next Friday with Leander. So either your good fortune will allow us a second public performance, our luck will cause grief. Hoping for the former LeanderMomma and Danpod 2 Quote

PSHSMom Posted September 22, 2018 Author Posted September 22, 2018 Plano East game was rescheduled to today at 10:30 am. Not sure if the band will be attending. Still raining, but the lightening has subsided at least. They are playing in the new McKinney stadium, guess we will see how well the drainage is for that field after 7 inches of rain in the last 24 hours Plano West was rescheduled to tonight. We saw their band truck driving home (or maybe it was rowing home!) from dinnr last night. My coworker is part of the equipment crew and she says she has spent the last 3 Fridays sitting in the parking lot waiting on lighting delays, only to just pick up and go home with no show, LOL. Plano Senior actually moved their game from Friday to Thursday and actually got a perfomance in, although even thursday they had a long lightning delay. But I got to see their new uniforms and they look pretty nice! (YouTube Plano Senior Band - Kokopelli Dances). There is rain in the forecast all week, including next Friday again. PESH plays Prosper next weekend and I would love to be able to go to that game to get a peek at both of their shows! Quote
josephbandfan Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 There were a ton of flash flood alerts yesterday. Apparently a man died near UTArlington last night and my friend told me he was swept into a creek and drowned. Quote

Some really bad flooding in areas. Quote
FloMoParent Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 I don't think any of the LISD (Lewisville) bands have been able to perform at the games. I know Flower Mound HS hasn't. Quote
LeanderMomma Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 I don't think any of the LISD (Lewisville) bands have been able to perform at the games. I know Flower Mound HS hasn't. That's rough! I feel for the bands who have not yet had a chance to show off their stuff. Leander has been fortunate and managed (SOMEHOW!) to perform at every single game so far this season. The rain just seems to hold off until we're done, or it skirts right around us. I can't wait to see what the "other" LISD bands are doing this year!!! Quote
PSHSMom Posted September 26, 2018 Author Posted September 26, 2018 Things are looking promising for this Friday... keeping fingers and toes crossed! Although, my son's game tonight is questionable, LOL. (Clark HS is a 9th/10th grade Non-varsity band). LeanderMomma 1 Quote
Percplayer19 Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Richland has had two football games canceled due to lighting/rain delays and on stadium practice we could use the props due to rain. Last week we had a delay but finally got to perform but without props. This week we travel to Abilene and taking props if able to this would be the first run with props. Quote

LeanderMomma Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 I’m just seeing chances of scattered showers. I’m thinking it will be ok. Quote
PSHSMom Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 It's late Friday afternoon and the skies are clear in north Texas! We should actually get a few halftime shows in this week! josephbandfan and LeanderMomma 2 Quote
BandGuy2 Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 Prosper and PESH both killed it tonight but prospers show was just so alive with the colors I loved it! Quote
