Popular Post NETexasBandFan Posted October 2, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 2, 2018 After hours of torturing myself typing this, here's my region result thread for 2018! I decided to only do the varsity conferences advancing to Area/State this year for simplicity sakes, and so far I have only done 6A. 4A is next then finally 2A. Key Notes: in regions with 2 or less bands, both will ALWAYS advance to area. 2 bands minimum must also go to area from a region. I will edit this with results and area advancements as the year goes on 6A Area A Region 1: Tascosa HS Region 6: Abilene HS San Angelo Central HS - 1 Midland HS - 1 Odessa HS - 1 Permian HS - 1 Midland Lee HS - 1 Region 7: No 6As Region 16: Frenship HS Region 22: Americas HS - 1 Coronado HS - 1 Franklin HS - 1 Montwood HS - 1 Pebble Hills HS - 1 Socorro HS - 1 (There's only 14 bands in this area meaning a max of 2 state spots and 4 bands here made state on their last chance, WOW) 6A Area B Region 5: Arlington HS - 1 Bowie HS - 1 Lake Ridge HS - 1 Lamar HS - 1 Mansfield HS - 1 Martin HS - 1 Paschal HS - 1 Sam Houston HS - 2 Summit HS - 1 Trimble Tech HS - 2 Region 20: Cedar Hill HS - 2 DeSoto HS - 1 Duncanville HS - 1 Grand Prairie HS - 2 Irving HS - 1 MacArthur HS - 2 Molina HS - 3 Nimitz HS - 1 Skyline HS - 2 South Grand Prairie HS - 1 Waxahachie HS - 1 White HS - 2 Region 24: Plano East SHS - 1 Plano SHS - 1 Plano West SHS - 1 Prosper HS - 1 Region 30: Keller Central HS Fossil Ridge HS Keller HS North Crowley HS Timber Creek HS Weatherford HS Region 31: Carroll SHS Coppell HS Haltom HS L.D. NETexasBandFan Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 What is the significance of the bolded ones? Made state on their last state year (2016 for most, but 2017 for those who moved up from 5A) Quote

principalagent Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Also take away Odessa and instead put Permian Quote
FEDude Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Why can't Area H have just 1 more band? Not Cedar Park though; I want another spot for state, not one that's pretty much decided. Quote
principalagent Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Why can't Area H have just 1 more band? Not Cedar Park though; I want another spot for state, not one that's pretty much decided. It’s the unfortunate reality of how these things tend to shake out. The 2004 realignment left two Areas straight up uncompetitive. Area B for at least three cycles (I think four) just sent Marcus, Hebron, Bell, Haltom and Richland. Area C was even worse. Literally up until this alignment it was always Duncanville, Coppell, Berkner, and eventually Rowlett when a fourth spot opened up (them always being alternate otherwise). BlackJesus 1 Quote
PSHSMom Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Wow, thanks for doing this. That's alot of work! I had a hard time just figuring out Area B! Quote
aggie1998 Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Did you forget Wagner in region 11? Wagner is now a 5A school, so they can't advance to area/state this season. Quote
FEDude Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Ah I see. I wish the areas were more even in the number of bands they had. It's better than it used to be (8 advancers in Area G, but only 4 in Area C), but still could be better. Quote
ChristopherRoden Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 I think Pearland has a solid shot at making state considering their growth the past two years QuietontheField 1 Quote
Tomcat491 Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Pearland almost always makes State, even if they don't do the best at BOA, I'm from the region. 2016 was an outlier on their State appearances. They just never did well at BOA until last year Quote
principalagent Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 And 2016 was a total shaft. Area F judging was out of control. Tomcat491 1 Quote

Guest Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 This Spring shouldn't have even made finals Yes, they should have. They just shouldnt have won prelims. There was nobody outside of finals who outperformed Spring. Quote

LeanderMomma Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 I wonder if Region 32 will even get to HAVE a decent day for marching at any point in the next 2 weeks! This flooding and rain is just out of control, and I'm getting the feeling that this is not going to let up anytime soon. Quote

This flooding and rain is just out of control, and I'm getting the feeling that this is not going to let up anytime soon. The evening forecast this Saturday looks better than the daytime. Plus, the rain in the forecast doesn't look heavy. I'm hoping that we have delays at worst. Fingers crossed! Quote
