Tomball Memorial will show up and shut out a lot of competition. Secure finalist and likely top 3

I believe the OP is referring to the Keller ISD marching expo which is exclusive to the Keller ISD HS/MS groups.

Is this Keller ISD Marching Expo that was last week or the Katy Marching Contest on October 13th?

If i'm not mistaken the KISD expo is today, Tuesday the 2nd. It's a closed event though (Tickets must be purchased from band/band boosters directly) so i'm not sure what thoughts to have really. I will say (being an alum of the district so maybe slight bias) i'm just happy to see the growth of all the bands in KISD and proud of all their hard work/success. Looking forward to hearing how it goes tonight!

It is today lol. In the past, I've bought the tickets at the stadium. Will I still be able to do that? I'm skipping my night class for this lol

From what I've seen, you will still be able to buy tickets at the stadium. The box office opens at 4:30.

It's the 6th annual joint fundraising event for all four Keller ISD marching bands. After exhibition performances by the high schools they take the field together and are joined by all their feeder middle school band kids for a closer. This year it was 2000 kids playing Smoke On The Water!

Bargain entertainment at any price.

Here is my way too long commentary from tonight...

I was unsure about Keller Central this year before seeing them but I really like what they are doing. It feels kindof different and fresh compared to their previous year while still being classic to the program. I much prefer this show to their last state year. I felt that their 2016 production wasn’t the most mature while their 2017 production lacked personality. I think this year is a nice balance so far. It has some pretty recognizable music and I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it so much. The narration is a little boring to me at the beginning but it sets up the theme I guess. Also they looked smaller this year???? Fossil Ridge is still the underdog of KISD but I loved them and they are definitely on the up. French themes usually bore me but I found this one really nice, I really liked their props. I also really like Timber Creeks show this year. Their pre-show and transition to the opener was one of my favorite moments from the night. When I first found out they were doing a show essentially about nature and flowers I was skeptical because a lot of bands take a real cutesy subtle approach but Timber Creek goes all in with this show. There are some ominous moments, some very powerful moments and obviously some more subtle moments. This hornline can play. If I’m being really nitpicky, the pacing in some parts of the show loses me a bit and I feel like there could be more visual elements in terms of props to tie the theme together but I expect more to come in typical Timber Creek fashion. Keller’s 2nd production of their show is FULL of some really difficult exposed musical moments. There is difficult simultaneous musical and visual responsibilities that is really cool like when small sections of the brass play 16th note runs on the move or when the woodwinds play a feature that switches between duple meter and triple meter while on the move. What they are doing is not easy and will have some major payoff. I don’t really know what the show is about but each moment kept me engaged. Ballad is on the cusp of being sensational. It has a certain sense of personality that I have desperately been wanting to see from Keller. Again I’m being pretty detailed but I would like to see more cooperation with the prop because it kindof just sat there. Also I think this show will benefit from any added nuances to emphasize the theme. Give me sensory overload!

Overall was a fantastic night and I can’t wait to see KISD well represented at BOA DFW on Saturday.

Because i'm in class, i'll just give my quick thoughts

Fossil Ridge

Some of their color guard were doing some really impressive tosses and I did enjoy it more than their show last year. Still a ways behind the other KISD High schools but they do look to be half the size of other schools. Overall I saw an improvement.

Keller

They added more visuals to the ballad and other stuff and the color guard was more together than at HEB. I believe they are getting ready to use propzilla more but I think they will still be playing up to the ballad this Saturday. All of their props are artworks by MC Escher and I do hope that the theme is communicated more.

Timber Creek

I was really impressed and can see why they won Midland. I do think they will make finals at BOA DFW and can't wait to see more. Their props at the moment look like cakes to me. Their show is about flowers right?

Central

Im still a little unsure but I did enjoy their show. There were some people behind me talking about their recording equipment so I feel like I missed bits and pieces and got distracted. A lot of recognizable music and their show was humorous. I'd have to see it again.

I believe that TC’s props aren’t finished but i’m not sure... Wonder if they’re going to look different by Saturday by BOA DFW, and if so, i’m really looking forward to it.

I don't think they will be finished by this weekend, but they should definitely be finished soon.
