This is my first San Antonio! Super excited to come down.

I'll be touching down early on Thursday, so I'll have some time to check out the city a bit. Where should I go? What places should I eat at? Check out? (Transportation is not an issue for me).

You should definitely head down to the Riverwalk and explore all of the shops and restaurants around there. You should also check out the area around the Alamo, Rivercenter mall, and La Villita. My favorite restaurant that I go to every year when I'm down for BOA San Antonio is Rosario's which isn't on the Riverwalk but is fairly close.

Basics: got to go to the Alamo.  Right off of the riverwalk.  Totally tourist move: La Margarita is over at Market Square. Off the beaten path, a ride away, Dough is a GREAT pizza place, Triple D did a thing on it.

We're going down on Thursday and spending the evening watching people on the Riverwalk.  Halloween, on the Riverwalk?  Yes please.  We're eating at Boudro's which is a nice laid back kind of place that has tables out over looking the river.  Goin' to be fun!

Oh, and GO WOOD!

They’re Carmel. They’ll win. They have the best of the best of the best instructing them and writing drill for them, year after year. And I believe that their “elite status” most likely won’t be diminished by a few well playing Texas bands. Just my thoughts. Take them for the two cents they’re worth.

I guess I’m just partial to Texas style, I rarely like Carmel’s shows. Just seems like a snooze fest to me. They shouldn’t have any clear advantage over Hebron at the very least. Cards are kind of stacked for them on their home field though as always. I do like Avon’s shows as well as some other Indiana bands. Perhaps I’m just a hater, but I think they’re over rated.

I know it's a bit pricey, but my wife and I always plan on a Friday night dinner at Bohanan's.  It's been a tradition for us and they serve a fantastic steak.

If anyone is interested in joining us.....please let me know!  We would really enjoy meeting other alumni band parent nerds!!

as someone that lives in San Antonio - this is my favorite place on the river - the steaks are way awesome and we are there anytime we have family or friends in town - wish I had time to meet up but I know you will have a great time there

I LOVE Rosario's.

It isn't a trip to SA without at least one meal there.

I have walked to and back Rosario's from the Alamodome. It is about a mile. Took longer to get back to the dome ;P

When I worked in Downtown San Antonio, people would always ask me where the best Mexican food on the Riverwalk is located.

My answer:

“It’s not on The Riverwalk.”

Love Rosario’s!

Dang I wanna go too!

Actually I'm thinking there's a 2 hour stretch of time on Saturday around lunchtime where me and the kid could walk over and eat at Rosario's.  Then we don't have to worry about dinner and we can sit in line for finals the second they release us from prelim awards.

get the mexican BLT - there is no better lunch

Garcia's Mexican and Pollos Asados Los Nortenos are both as good as any fancy Michelin-Starred restaurants. Be prepared to wait in a line but we'll worth the wait! Go CyFalls!!

it is for the locals and took off at their airport location - toasted sub roll with bacon (lots of Bacon), lettuce, tomato, with cilantro mayo - toss in some queso and taco sauce - it rocks

The Lingua Plate at Rosario's is pretty darn good too!

The best fajitas in San Antonio is at Taco Palenque. Also, go to Pico De Gallo or Mi Tierra! Mi Tierra is a tourist trap but delicious! And the bakery is awesome.

I just got an email from MFA about the tickets. They said that they have all been shipped. But if I don’t get them by Thursday of next week, they would leave some at will call for me!
