Band2013 Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Keller, amazing to me the first band to pass Cedar Ridge today, they will be in finals. Quote
meursault Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 that Keller ballad... is so gorgeous. What piece is that? Quote

FloMoParent Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 is there something wrong with the turf? Twice now I've seen a Keller performer fall Quote
7BlackBoo Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I’m late on this but I’m so proud of my alma mater, KC. They were great ❤️ A Testing Trumpet 1 Quote
jetliner Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 For those that haven't seen JBA before, check last year's show too. Just as much emotion and message built into it. Quote

I loved their show last year. Probably more than this year's. But they certainly tackled something much bigger this year. Quote

BlueCircle Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Keller...wow...what an incredibly difficult and nuanced show. Like last year, I think they be safely in finals. I love all the changes they keep making right till the end. The closer is still maybe my favorite moment of the year so far though it seems the audio was a bit weird. Easily the most demanding show of the day! The winds don’t stop playing throughout! meursault 1 Quote
TWHSParent Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 There have been several falls today. Noticed 2 or 3 for Westlake, and others scattered. I think it is the performers doing their all and a little beyond. Quote
meursault Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 The source music is from Stoick’s Ship from How To Train A Dragon That's why it seemed so familiar! It has a similar melody as "Test Flight" from the movie. Quote
BlueCircle Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Oddly the thing I was the most impressed by from Keller was the individual visual! All that drill in front of the sideline showed off some seriously good technique. Quote
Band2013 Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 very different show from hendrickson. award 1 Quote
BlueCircle Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Hendrickson is better than judges have been giving them credit for, but the design is a bit of a miss. The vocal soloists is fantastic but there’s too much of a focus on her and the band almost feels secondary in a lot of spots. A Testing Trumpet and FloMoParent 2 Quote
zoomer Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I didn’t think I was watching 17th at Waco. Fun show from hendrickson, a bit messy at times visually but good sounds overall. Quote

Yes, the young lady is a fantastic singer, but that show feels more like they are featuring the vocalist and not the band. Quote

Not that it was ever bad, but I didnt feel like I was watching one of the best marching bands in the state. I felt like I was watching a good marching band put on a fun background show at a weird concert. FloMoParent 1 Quote

lost Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I think Rouse pulled off Midnight City pretty well for a show centered around a modern song Quote

BlueCircle Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Bowie! They do not want to be left out this year!! A bit too much running around for my tastes but very strong in all aspects!! Quote
Band2013 Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 James Bowie is in finals, very well done! Quote
BandFan59 Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Really enjoyed Bowie, that closer is fantastic! NTxBandMom8 1 Quote
