Ronald Reagan is one of those marching bands that just embodies every aspect of the activity. They play, they march, they are marching band. They have been around for so long I remember when they got robbed in 2005 at nationals.

Sitting in the fourth row on the 50 and listening to Reagan was quite potentially one of the most religious experiences of my life.

Honestly I’m so jealous of the Reagan band students that get to match that. I wish the shows I marched were even half as cool!

Clear Brook had a solid performance. Symphony N 10 by Shostakovich seems to be a very popular piece among high school marching bands (not that I mind, it's one of my favorite pieces of music).

It's actually fairly common at Grand Nationals. Back in 2017 I remember there was a lot of people talking about it.

Music is great for CTJ it is there visual that is just so dirty. a lot
going on in the show which is how ctj likes it, not sure where i see
them. I had them high on my list but not sure anymore, i need to see
both marcus or vista to know where ctj will likely land in finals.

The first circle part is one of the greatest musical moments of this season from anyone I've seen. The ending itself... could be more.

CTJ's show really picked up near the end, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lion King has such an incredible soundtrack. Was a bit dirty visually, so it seems they may be playing the long game for Grand Nats.

First time seeing that show for me too. As usual I need to see CTJs show several times before I can really understand it.

CTJ was great! But I can’t help myself from comparing them to Reagan. Reagan accomplishes SO MUCH with no bells and whistles. CTJ will do just fine here but Regan easily has the more engaging and well performed show. I felt that the show was missing some bigger moments that CTJ is known for? I think I was expecting more energy?? Idk still a fantastic production!

it’s been a pretty big debate in the dci world for the past few years. i dont follow hs marching band nearly as closely so i guess i didnt realize top hs groups were doing it too. it’s not necessarily unfair, but it is an extremely direct way of showing how money can quite literally buy you a better sound. im eh about it for dci, cause it seems that most if not all world class corps use them now, but the vast majority of hs cannot afford to keep up with the electronics arms race.

Absolutely agree about the arms race thing. I also think its insulting to talented groups like CTJ practically saying they can't play loud enough normally. They don't need it and it seems unnecessary to me.
