LostChoirGuy Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 They need to do something about this turf. I hope no one is getting injured. rdmmp 1 Quote
Nny14 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Hmm that FloMo show didn't progress quite like I thought it would. Particularly musically. Still one of the most creative groups in the country. Quote
BandFan59 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Flower Mound put in a great performance. Jumping into top half is very likely, but I don't know if they can medal tonight. But I said it yesterday and I'll say it again, their students have the best individual marching technique in the state. northtexasbandfan 1 Quote

lost Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Flower Mound made vitrifying an even more interesting process Quote

UIL is has 6 levels based on 9-12 school enrollment. BOA has 4 levels based on 10-12. For example, that's why Weiss was BOA 1A 2 years ago (opened with only freshmen & sophomores), 2A last year, and 3A this year (first year with seniors). Quote
BenedictCucumberpatch Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 L.D Bell really knows how to put on a show, incredibly well done. gr8n8 1 Quote
RenMacnary Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Tuning seems to be an issue in multiple bands tonight. Given no environmental issues being indoors, wondering why? Quote
Band_dad_of_2 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Maybe it's just me but the Bell show, while visually stunning, doesn't have enough of the full band playing. A lot of features and solos. Their flags, though....man...amazing. Quote
BandFan59 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Ready for Reagan to take my soul again. Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Maybe it was the curse of following The Woodlands and Flower Mound, but I didnt enjoy LD Bell as much this evening. Quote

Given no environmental issues being indoors, wondering why? It's probably decently cold in the warm up area; and then the wait to perform can mess with tuning further. By the time you're on the field, your instrument (especially brass) can have significant changes to the sound. You can mitigate it by blowing warm air into the instrument, but there will still be some impact. Quote

Seems to be the low brass, which would further support the theory given the length of time needed to warm up the instrument. Quote

Popular Post BandFan59 Posted November 3, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 3, 2019 I think this is the year Reagan finally takes San Antonio. This show is so incredible in every way. Visually stunning and musically powerful, and they do this all without any props. If they went to Grand Nats this year, this show would be top 3 guaranteed. rdmmp, Nny14 and lost 3 Quote
