I think I answered my own question. They’re UIL 6A right?

Right. UIL is has 6 levels based on 9-12 school enrollment.

BOA has 4 levels based on 10-12.

For example, that's why Weiss was BOA 1A 2 years ago (opened with only freshmen & sophomores), 2A last year, and 3A this year (first year with seniors).

Tuning seems to be an issue in multiple bands tonight.  Given no environmental issues being indoors, wondering why?

It's probably decently cold in the warm up area; and then the wait to perform can mess with tuning further. By the time you're on the field, your instrument (especially brass) can have significant changes to the sound.  You can mitigate it by blowing warm air into the instrument, but there will still be some impact.

Makes sense.  Seems to be the low brass, which would further support the theory given the length of time needed to warm up the instrument.
