2019 BOA Grand National Championships

Two different panels for the two prelims days. A completely different panel for semis. And then a finals panel composed of judges from the two prelims days, not necessarily judging the same thing as prelims.

just to point out - I just looked at last years results - I did not go any further back than that

 

while there was movement in semis - the top 7 bands from the combined prelims - where the same top 7 in finals -

4 of the 7 changed places in Semis - but ended in the same spot in Finals

Surprised my original question hasn’t been answered. Don’t they list who’s judging what in the event brochures? Or maybe they don’t do that for Nationals? Or are they like $100 now to purchase? Wouldn’t surprise me!

I heard from somewhere Nola Jones might be judging for nats not sure which part though! To add to that she also judged for the TMC local if I remember right!

Nola will likely be judging music effect. That seems to be what she judges most these days. She used to mostly judge ensemble visual and visual effect.

Hmm. I thought Round Rock was stronger at San Antonio than tonight to be honest. I'm not sure if the delayed circle formation at the start was intentional this time, especially since the edge of the top right one after the hit of the show seemed a bit strangled. Musically they were fine, but I did notice some more things here then I did at SA. I bet it's just they got the nerves out here though, so I think they'll be okay but I'd like to see Semi's be a bit over this run. Otherwise great efforts tonight, and good luck tomorrow!

Waiting for semi final announcements in LOS and am wondering why we are 35 minutes in and all we have seen so far are sponsor awards and lots of back slapping!!?? With so many bands waiting for the performance times, call times and schedules tomorrow I have to wonder why MFA would intentionally drag this out so long!!??!!

The Grand National Championships typically has pretty long and some may even consider to be drawn out ceremonies. This isn't too out of the ordinary, as it's "THE" BOA. They get the largest stage and grandest event here so it's not too surprising.

I can imagine! I've been in the same position before, and it's nerve-wracking, no matter how confident I felt in my prior run, that time where I'd wait to hear my band's name get called for finals was always filled with panic.

Judging from the way HornRank had the template schedule set up, it seems like it’s Round Rock, Marian, Miamisburg, Fishers, Forest Hills, North Hardin, Panther Creek, and Plymouth-Canton? Don’t quote me on that
