BOA Austin!!!!

I hope!!! I mean, our new director is from O'connor, and they seemed to travel to the Austin regionally, so hope that is where he is heading. But, I have a feeling if anything we would be heading back to McAllen to redeem ourselves from what happened two years ago.

Is Roland Sandoval yalls new director?

No. Wesley Perkins is, and we absolutely adore him. We got a chance to meet Mr. Sandoval this past marching season, though, and he's a really sweet person too. It's no wonder things were going so well at O'connor.

Now that FloMarching and Bands of America have released the 2019 schedule, I wanted to put the Texas schedule out there for we avid (or should I say rabid?) TXBands fans. And I am including GN of course, as so many Texas bands are going next fall. Here are the upcoming BOA dates in Texas for 2019:

September 21 McAllen (@Veterans Memorial Stadium)

September 28 Austin (@Kelly Reeves)

October 5 DFW (@Pennington Field)

Houston (@Legacy Stadium in Katy)

The Vista Ridge Marching Festival (@Gupton)

October 12 Midland (@Grande Communications Stadium)

(Also Texas Marching Classic @Kelly Reeves)

October 19 Waco (@McClane Stadium)

November 1&2 San Antonio Super Regional (@Alamodome)

November 14-16 Grand Nationals (@Lucas Oil Stadium)

Edited to add the Vista Ridge Marching Festival. That thing is going to be fantastic this year !

Add in HEB Marching Contest (September 28th) too, that competition is always exhilarating to find out the results for (i.e. Prosper beating Marcus and Keller in prelims last season).

October 12th is the Lone Star Preview hosted by TWHS. 17 bands have already signed up, but I don’t have any names yet.

I believe SFA and Oak Ridge are going.

Klein Oak, Porter, and Willis (and possibly Klein Cain) are also attending.

Edit: Add Cy-Fair

Anyone see Leander’s Instagram post where they said Vista Ridge was going with them to Grand Nats? Or did I misunderstand that?

You misunderstood. The post was talking about Vandegrift, who is confirmed going to Nationals.

Midland is nice in October.

That's a tough one because it's the same weekend as TMC and Leander is doing that one for the first time since 2015!

My dad and I will be going out to Midland the night prior for BOA Midland so I can see the whole contest on that Saturday.  My sister will be performing and my Mom a Chaperone so the whole family will be at the event!

Sorry we will not see you LeanderMomma, but understood that Leander at TMC will be the priority for you :)

Oh, I am definitely bummed to miss it.  I had plans to go this year before I knew Leander was going to do TMC again this fall.

ENJOY!!!
