TRtrumpet Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 We might a have a bassoon next year. Our Bari sax player wants to convert. Quote
MartinHorn Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Quote u march a bassoon? You can't march a bassoon. We have a lot of flutes especially in our 4th band. Like 25. It's not good. Quote
G'townPIT Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Quote You can't march a bassoon. I beg to differ, at Windsor Castle you may march a bassoon any time you like. Quote
MartinHorn Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 ^well I'm proven wrong, but next time reduce the size of pic, Jesus it was huge. Quote
G'townPIT Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 i apologize, hope i didn't inconvenience your computer. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 You march concert french horns? sweet Quote
escababe07 Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 we have at least one bassoon for every band i think (and there are 8 bands) it's just most of them become brass players for marching, like mellophone or baritone. same with oboes. although we have one bassoon tenor sax, we once had an oboe alto, and we have a bassoon in pit. TRtrumpet Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I've never understood my frechhorn players put their fist inside their bell... our frech horn player doesent even know lol, but our director always tells her took keep it in there. Quote

There are 8 of us in 1st band and like 9 in 2nd. What class is your school? We're 4A Quote
TRtrumpet Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 lol, we just have one band for concert and marching. Were a 2A school. Last year we just had one clarinet.... she was never heard lol. Quote
escababe07 Posted December 25, 2005 Author Posted December 25, 2005 jeez. 1 band for concert and marching. that just blows my mind. is that weird? we have eight concert bands. Quote

cookie_monster Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 I used to be in a band (before I moved back to Texas) that we had 1 marching band and 1 concert band for the whole program and we were a 4A school. It was insane now that I think about it. And when I moved back and started band here I thought it was weird to have more than 1 concert band. Quote
Piccolo06 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 5 tenors saxes 14 Altos Saxes 3 Bari Saxes 12 Flutes 4 Piccolos 16 Clarinets 54 total woodwinds Quote

ClaireAnnette07 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 A pretty close estimate...I actually counted this time 14 flutes 15 clarinets (wh0o!!) 1 bassoon (cymbals in marching season) 4 bass clarinets 1 contra-bass clarinet (alto in marching season) 3 oboes (cymbals and pit in marching season) 3 tenor saxes 2 bari saxes 6 alto saxes Quote
