So thoughts on SFA. Clean music and visuals. I preferred last year's theme, but I think they perform stronger this year. Very much on the bubble in my view.

Yes, you are so right! They really need the folks holding the entrances while a band is playing!

Do they not hold the entrances to the upper deck when a band is playing? If they don’t, that’s really odd; they did that when DCI was held there.

First 2 block standout/surprise bands for me.

SFA

JET - Oak Ridge (feel the same about these two; they’re doing their thing and will get rewarded for their strengths)

Cypress Woods

Bridgeland

Klein Oak (really surprised me! I think they make top 15 at least.)

Dawson

Also really proud of Paetow!

This might be a good football stadium but it has many issues as a band competition stadium. Progress one step backwards!

Yeah, the acoustics are very weird. It's like a sound pit.

Nope, no ushers. People just wander during performances.

katyisd schools are hosting, I know for sure they took volunteers from tompkins, but I don't know who else. I don't believe they got enough, that could be it.

Will this by any chance be live blogged sooner or later? Unfortunately we won’t be there for results we may see it through FloMarching but we may be told and I would like to see it get announced no worries if it isn’t and thanks!

Oak Ridge sounded incredible.

I agree, their ensemble sound will be the factor that likely pushes them back into finals. They have a really high standard given last year, lol.

Fundamentally, Pearland is very strong. Tons of playing on the move and awesome field coverage. However, I personally want more thematic development, I don’t have any clue what this show is about!

Pearland was fantastic!! Gorgeous full, dark, ensemble sound and lots of great moments of high demand on the move! Loved it!
