WoodlandsMom4ever Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Some of our band just got music for the preview of the show... two of the four concert bands will play a portion in the spring concert, and then they’ll give out and start teaching parts to next years 9th graders and give us parents a preview on May 25th- TWHS’s May Day where they will reveal as much as they will reveal before next fall. Looks like it will be a lot of fun and I love the music choices. I'm hoping they can make finals. Quote
oddlynormal Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Galena Park High School "Us and Them" Gustav Mahler-Symphony 2 Uninvited-Alanis Morrsette Dimitri Shostakovich-Symphony 11 This program is going to be stunning. I cannot wait to see the Houston 5A bands next year. So many up and comers on the way. From what I've been told the band will be the largest in the schools history. WoodlandsMom4ever 1 Quote

I know that a lot of he 6A programs design shows that they later sell to other programs - that could include props, flags, and guard uniforms. I wonder if this is the Reagan "Us and Them" show they performed in 2017. I do not recall the music from the show - but it was a great show - took silver at BOA Houston Quote

I’m also guessing that TC won’t be the only school in KISD that uses this design team new to timber creek last year Quote

LeanderMomma Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 A friend just shared the Weiss production video with me (it's on their FB page). It looks fantastic! Weiss HS band and the Scarlet Dance Company present--The Golden Goddess Musical Selections include: Deliverance by Yanni (I LOVE ME SOME YANNI!) Waking Up by MJ Cole Danse Bacchanale by Saint Saens and original music by Drew Shanefield and Andrew Markworth. They intend to compete at McAllen BOA, Vista Ridge Marching Festival and BOA SA. I can already see the Scarlet Dance company in amazing golden dresses, can't you??!!! Quote
