Their arrangement of Imagine is fantastic and if CTJ plays the bridge as they arrange it, it has the potential to be a magical moment! in 2017 CTJ performed Pentatonix version of Hallelujah - it was awesome Quote

LHSax Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 2013 - Carolina Crown opens with Einstein on the Beach - Wins first championship 2019 - Leander opens with Einstein on the Beach - ??? This show sounds HARD!! Sounds like a show that will be peaking in Indy, and I love that Leander is taking a risk here. I’ll hold off judgment on Vandy until we see it on the field, but as always they sound fantastic and they will blow Indy away musically. But please please please add some flare to the visual package this year!!! Fingers crossed Cedar park sounds like they’ll be tough to dethrone this year. The music sounds relatively a bit “safe”, but makes sense for a state year. I think they’ll find their way back into SA finals. Seems like VR may be a bit more close to the vest with the development of the show this year. Haven’t found any preview concert vids yet. Last year was a big year for LISD, where they claimed their stake as one of, if not the best district in the state. This year they can prove they’re one of the best in the country. MadisonBandMan1 Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Just watched Cedar Park's preview. It's on da tube... Search "Cedar Park HS 2019 Icarus After The Fall preview" Really like the music, and the woodwinds seem to have a really hard run there that is nowhere near up to tempo of course... makes me really excited for them this year. Can't wait to see Leander and Vandy's previews. Quote
josephbandfan Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Boamoments on instagram and twitter posted Vista Ridge's preview. I saw Leander's on youtube but I can't seem to find it anymore. Quote
MadisonBandMan1 Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Saw Vandegrift preview now. As always they sound amazing, but because they were in a gym and how large their brass line is they were so loud that I couldn't really hear the details of what they were playing. Quote
MadisonBandMan1 Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 And Vista Ridge! Those are some really hard brass licks! When do you ever hear a Mellophone double tongue in a high school setting? Even in bands like Vandy and FloMo I don't think I've ever noticed them double tonguing. Those are some interesting chords there...very crunchy, almost like what Crown did with Ode to Joy in "Inferno." I like it. Can't wait to see what they have on the field. This is definitely going to be an interesting marching season, one for the ages. It seems like lately we've been saying that a lot, but it definitely has rung true each time. gregorydf01 1 Quote
LeanderMomma Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 I’ll make my YouTube video public when I can. Leander’s music is crazy hard. But they sound incredible. I heard some other details that sound fabulous too. I can’t wait to see this sucker on the field. Man oh man. josephbandfan and gregorydf01 2 Quote

Bandwoww Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I just got around to watching the preview videos for Vista, Vandy, and CP, and I can already tell that this year is going to be awesome (as usual ). I’m pretty confident that this year’s BOA San Antonio will be the best one yet. Vista really stands out to me because the music is the only one that is noticeably very dirty (I haven’t seen Leander yet). I think one of the greatest things that you can do as a teacher/designer is to give your students something that is too hard for them at first. It forces improvement, so I’m especially excited for Vista this year as well as Leander. AvonDad 1 Quote

Hebron double tongues every year and never gets any love Excited to see Leander perform this year! Already loving all the music I’m hearing and I know it’ll be even greater on the field. MadisonBandMan1 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 I didn't mention Hebron for that very reason -- there is never a time where their entire brass is not double or triple tonguing lol Quote

I've put together a quite a few for the band I was a part of, but they were meant to be for the band only, and I never got the permission to upload them until after the season, which is when most people stop caring about that kind of stuff. I imagine that's probably more common than the videos being publicly available from the get-go. Makes me kinda sad cause I put a lot of work into some of those videos :') MadisonBandMan1 and josephbandfan 2 Quote
