That said, having just graduated from Johnson and watching other programs and corps rehearse, it is evident that bad habits are prone to form when the program is quickly put on the field.

By the way things are looking I'll see you (and Dan?) in Austin and SA! My mom will for sure be at those 2. I'm fighting my work schedule, but for now I'm in the clear lol

Hey! I heard a rumour a while back that Vista had moved up to 4a from 3a. Can anyone confirm or deny this or point me in the right direction to look for an answer?

I believe that is correct. School growth and all that. Lots of new home construction over there.

Does BOA have a reclassification like UIL does every few years?

The lines between classes change every few years but a band’s class can change every year with respect to those lines.

I do not see an exhibition band listed for BOA Austin.  Does anyone know if we will have a local college or university band attend?  I sure hope so!!

They aren’t predicting much relief from the scorching hot temperatures before BOA Austin, unfortunately. I’m grateful Leander has a morning performance, though it will still be plenty hot at 11:30. I’m sorry for all of the afternoon performance times! It’ll be brutal in the stands too. I’m a bit nervous about it!

Watched an early video of cedar park and they are looking pretty great! That drum break....wowza!! I could easily see them jumping back up into the top half here

1. Claudia Taylor Johnson HS (they are done with everything in...going to be a mess but effect wins. 

2. Vista Ridge HS (this show is LEGIT. So much harder than last year. Drum corps level. Will be messy.)

3. Leander HS (Will be messy but this show has the most potential I think.)

4. Vandegrift HS (will be the least messy out of the top 4 but also the safest)

5. James Bowie HS (Will be solid.)

6. Round Rock HS (Grand Nats year for them....they could place higher, but based on videos the show seems to easy.)

7. Cedar park HS (Rebuilding. Band sounds better and guard is better but show design and drill......IDK)

8. Cedar Ridge HS (always solid)

9. Hendrickson HS (I am afraid they may be slipping a bit...)

10. Westwood HS or Rouse HS (whomever is the most effective at this point gets in!)

 

This will be awesome to watch. I wish Reagan, Westlake, Lake Travis and Churchill were here....would really make it interesting!

Cedar Park is crazy good all the time. Last year was just a fluke.

I really liked their show last year but I’m not a professional judge so my opinion doesn’t count for much. Still it was nice to watch it when I had the chance

I agree PV A&M was amazing!!   Texas State was there last year and was equally impressive so the last couple years have been great.  Hopefully it is a surprise (UT?) this year and not listed on the schedule. (fingers crossed!!)
