I've played on a Willson (Yes, it's spelled with 2 L's) for the last 2 years.

It's a beautiful horn. Fantastic tone in all ranges -- low to high. I played on a Yamaha 642 before the Willson, and the Willson uses a lot more air. I guess the horn just has a "warmer" feel to it.

Willson puts a lot of care into their horns... even the slides are engraved with the serial number.

I would recommend a Willson or Besson... in that order.

I wouldn't buy a horn until after the TMEA or TBA conventions. You can go there and try out all the euphoniums you want from all manufacturers until you find what you like best.

I'm looking to play casually after I graduate. Which shops do you guys recommend I go to to purchase a horn? The ones nearby don't carry quality horns, and other than at TMEA, I'm not sure where else to purchase horns.
