WC finished 6th in finals ahead of Bowie and Hendrickson @ TMC 2 weeks ago, and have continued to improve. Gonna be a great show! Quote

That's right, can't count out these programs. Late season theatrics happen a lot with "smaller" bands (I say smaller as in general success), last year some of these weren't thought of much based off of early and mid season runs but then showed up come competition day. Dog885 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 What's worrying me about finals is that USBands advances class winners to finals which automatically takes us 6/12 finalists spots and with a competition as competitive as this one many good programs may be left out Quote
jjblob Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 I think that they combine I and II but that still leaves only 5 spots that aren't the class winners Quote
BandNerd20 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I feel the first in class finals thing would be better for smaller USBands competitions rather than larger ones Quote
vbassoon Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 1. Churchill 2. Dripping Springs 3. Sharyland Quote
jjblob Posted October 31, 2019 Author Posted October 31, 2019 1. Dripping Springs 2. Churchill 3. Brennan 4. Sharyland 5. Georgetown 6. Anderson 7. Austin 8. LBJ 9. Robinson 10. Johnson Those last two are because of the group rules, great shows all around, all of these groups clean up well towards the end of the season but I don't think it'll be enough to take the spots of those that medal. Anyone I forgot or y'all have it another way? Quote
SpartanBandAlum Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 How’s PSJA this year? I remember enjoying their show last year but I haven’t seen this year Quote
Dog885 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Here's my wild and rushed predictions 1. Churchill 2. Dripping Springs 3. Sharyland 4. Anderson 5. Brennan 6. Georgetown 7. LBJ 8. Canyon 9. Johnson 10. Austin 11. Group 2 winner 12. Group 1 winner jrglinares and jjblob 2 Quote
BandNerd20 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Chruchill and Drippings Springs might battle for 1st but I personally think Churchill might be on top. I feel like 3-5 could be Sharyland, Brennan, or Anderson in any order tbh. I couldn't give an final placement of any of those 3 groups. jrglinares 1 Quote
jjblob Posted November 1, 2019 Author Posted November 1, 2019 I definatly agree that Drip And Churchill will be going at it for first though I think Drip has the edge here Quote
ColorGuardDAD Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Prelims Churchill gets first in Division 6 with 93.65 score and Sharyland first in division 4 with a 93.6! Finals should be good! Quote

BandNerd20 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 And I'm quite happy for Marshall making finals for the first time in a couple years. Quote
Dog885 Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Somebody told me that Dripping Springs dropped because they were “saving their faces for state” but I can’t confirm that Quote
BudaBandDad Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 I'm definitely biased, but very proud of Johnson's showing at this event. This is the school's first year in existence and their band is made up of only freshmen and sophomores. Despite that, they managed to put a competitive show on the field every week. Very anxious to watch them grow in the upcoming years! Quote

ColorGuardDAD Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 We thought they did very well in the finals and found out after they were all freshmen and sophomores. Good job BudaBandDad 1 Quote
