Hey there. I wanted to create this thread as a place to ask about shows you can't find easily on the internet that you really want to see. These shows can be recent or fairly old, it's up to you.

For example, I don't have the BOA: San Antonio DVD from 2016 and really want to see a video of my band's performance from that year and the only people that have seen it are the directors and all of those people who were watching it live in some format or have the DVD. What I want to ask is if there is anyway somebody could PM me a way to see an archived recording if it must be kept secret because of Flo or the likes, or if there was anyone there live that distinctly remembers the performance and describe it/ how it went for me.

I encourage others to follow suit in both asking and answering these questions as I am sure others will want to read the descriptions or see the videos that can be made public.

Thank you so much, and can we please start off with someone answering the question I asked above? For some reason that is the only video from our recent BOA record that I can't seem to find and it's one I really want to see.

Can’t help you with that, I apologize

But, for years people agonized on MFA forums over never being able to find Plymouth Canton late 90s/early 00s shows online... there is now a YouTube account dedicated to them and is incredibly easy to find

I'm pretty sure BOA does not make DVDs anymore because of copyright reasons, but even then I'm pretty sure they only saved Grand Nationals (latest DVD I can find is 2014). On top of that, it's only finals which is on the DVD. So unless someone recorded the stream, it's safe to say that you won't be seeing the multi-cam performance anytime soon, unfortunately.

I figured something like that was likely, but there is a dvd from 2015 a few of us have, and there are videos posted of that year and every year after 2016 but for some reason one of our most beloved shows has no BOA recording.

There has never been a publicly posted recording of the show from BOA San Antonio from 2016 but there are plenty of videos from the rest of the season. I just want a video or (detailed) description of that specific run.

Also, is there anyone else with similar questions? I feel like there are plenty of people that would like to reminisce on a certain memorable performance of theirs that they can't find themselves online.

Absolutely! I'd love to see smaller regional videos and everything.

When did Mr. Video go bye-bye?

I believe 2014 was the last year they sold the dvds...fortunately I already had the Houston and SA’s from that year, and the GNs but music was muted.

I have not been able to find a video of Keller at GN in 2015 and Marcus 2013. I have been watching PCEP 1999 a lot recently. Their shows will never cease to impress me.

Of all the shows I’ve seen online, those PCEP shows seem to be the most “ahead of its time.” If there were more different forms of movement throughout their shows I would have assumed those shows were from the 2010s.

I would love to see Winston Churchill 2005. Everyone talks about how great that show was (and it is completely believable given that the shows leading up to it and the shows the coming years were incredible), but there is no youtube recording of it at all.

2014 was the last year DVDs of Bands of America events were sold (and many of them had muted audio).  Based on this email, Mr. Video was at the 2015 events and produced director copies for various schools but did not distribute/sell them to the public as they couldn't obtain mechanical sync rights for them.  So there are likely some DVD rips of 2015 floating around (which might be what you have), but most are still "stream captures" (people who watched the stream and recorded it on their devices).  All the BOA videos I have from 2015 are stream captures.

There are no DVDs of the 2016 BOA events as FloMarching recorded these events and did not produce any DVDs.  They may have masters they keep for their own purposes but you won't get access to them unless, like, you get really chummy with their media team or something....Your only hope (Since you're not aware of anyone in your own circle who recorded the stream) is to find some super nerd who might've recorded the entire prelims back then and didn't delete their archive after they saved all the bands they wanted to keep.  Maybe if someone did do that, they'll step forward and help you out....otherwise you might be completely out of luck.

EDIT:  Your only other bet is to try to ask around in your own band to see if anyone's parents recorded the show from the stands (technically not allowed, but some people still do it)

Thank you for coming out of the depths and posting this.... I'll keep asking around for that recording. Thank you.

As an alumnus, would love to see high quality videos of Vista Ridge 2003-2010.

2007, 2008, and 2010 exist on YouTube in varying qualities, but the earlier years don't. I'd love to make a "fan site" for my school like the Bell one above.
