MarchingBandLife Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Bands have started bringing out their props! What are some of the coolest ones or your favorite ones so far? (Accidentally deleted the original topic oops) Quote
bandtingz Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I'm particularly excited for what Westlake will do with their props. I have heard that they are using Pride of Cincinatti's WGI props from last year (the doors). I can't wait to see Leander's props as well, I've heard they're doing some really great things. Quote
An Inspirational Pinecone Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Can't say much about them but I'm really excited about The Woodlands props this year Quote

LeanderMomma Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Wonder what Bowie is cooking up this season. They definitely won most interesting props last year! bandtingz 1 Quote
Rubisco Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Do most groups even have their props yet? Even for the ones that do, like Flower Mound, I'm squinting and can't tell exactly what they are. Quote

Leander had barrels out on the field for the first time on Friday, but they are blue and will certainly undergo a transformation. I’m sure we will start to see some more complete props all around at BOA Austin, DFW and Houston in the next few weeks. Quote
RenMacnary Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Saw Pflugerville Connally on Friday, they had some really nice props that were stairs on one side and slides on the other. Very interesting use as both stages for various groups and movement up and down in different ways. Liked their show! LeanderMomma 1 Quote

I saw a video of their ballad and I loved it. And yes, they look to be using the props from POC's wgi show. Quote
Rubisco Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Speaking of taxis, I'm still waiting for some top band to do a Studio Ghibli-inspired show and field a Catbus. It would sort of be like a variation on Marcus' 2007 ladybug, but the kids would actually board it and travel around the field in it. "Rawwwr! Next stop, Indianapolis, Indiana!" I would lose it! takigan 1 Quote
josephbandfan Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Any show that has anything to do with Studio Ghibli would instantly have my heart. Now I'm imagining a moving castle and the guard members dressed up as No-Face takigan and BanderThanYou 2 Quote
LeanderMomma Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Hmmmmmmm....the possibilities! Quote
Willig Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Wonder what Bowie is cooking up this season. They definitely won most interesting props last year! Their props this year are definitely a step up from last year. I like how they’re interacting with their props this season. LeanderMomma 1 Quote

lost Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 A Ghibli Show is a show that’s long overdue I have to see it happen Quote
LKendrick Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Lincoln-Way is doing some really cool stuff up in Illinois. That show is an absolute visual treat, their props remind me of Blue Devils amazing walls that can fold down all the way flat and also go completely vertical, getting a lot of mileage and dimension out of one thing with two very striking color palettes. WoodlandsMom4ever Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 If the rain holds off I was thinking we might see a little bit of props this week... but looking at the forecast I’ll guess they won’t be on the field with them until the following week. Quote

TWHSParent Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Yeah... RIP any practice we were going to have this week! Think she'll push for practice on Saturday if possible? Should be cleared out by then if the forecast holds. Quote
WoodlandsMom4ever Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Think she'll push for practice on Saturday if possible? Should be cleared out by then if the forecast holds. That’s what I told my kids... that I bet she tries to toss in a sat morning one. Quote
An Inspirational Pinecone Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Rain held off today, but in other news I get to march a 5 to 5 step size... Hurray TWHSParent and WoodlandsMom4ever 2 Quote
