I thought I heard the drum major say in the interview tonight this was the first year. 2nd year with Senors but she was talking about the first year where no kids split from other schools but all started at Glenn. LeanderMomma Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 It was a VERY enjoyable evening. The stands were packed, the bands were great, and the parents were pretty well behaved for the most part. Excellent Festival of Bands, LISD! gregorydf01 and LHSbandDad 2 Quote

Oh I hear you! Have you ever listened to Trombone Shorty? That man is SERIOUSLY talented! And when Leander played that section of his song, Suburbia on Saturday at March A Thon and then again Monday at Festival of Bands, I think I drooled a little! And the way it is going to just slide right into 1812 Overture (did you catch that part at the very end?)...just sublime. I think the Brittney Spears Toxic section and the closer are going to be crowd favorites. Quote
jmj Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 I was really impressed with that latest part that Leander added - a lot of demand on the move and very well executed already. Very excited to hear more of the 1812. It is one of my very favorite pieces. A million years ago, my HS band actually played the whole 1812 my junior year for concert band and then used it again the next year for our marching show. abbytheflute and LeanderMomma 2 Quote
