BlueCircle Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Also Haltom 10th??? After doing PHENOMENALLY at St. Louis. I know Haltom usually struggles with cleanliness so maybe the early performance time hit them hard? Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Early groups really got the short end of the stick it seems today. We started with a wind chill of 44 and cloudy skies. Ended with sun and 68-ish. Quadmom68 1 Quote

If they perform like they did last week I can see them in top 4. Now if it’s like this morning not so much. It was cold and early and I guess they weren’t used to it. Really Rooting for them. So I hope they do the best they ever had and leave it all on the field and if they do . They can really turn it around Quote
TrumpetDad Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Big shout out to Prosper and Waxahachie for coming in top 5 here. Quote
BlueCircle Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I’m happy that Prosper is finding success after being left out of DFW finals (they really should’ve been in finals there imo). mschneider 1 Quote

Seriously though. Last year we had a football game against them at the same time as Region Band auditions and they announced that unfortunately they'll ONLY be performing with 500 of their marchers on the field. They had 300 of their members trying out for region. That's the size of our entire band. That is INSANE. Just heard that Allen placed 11th in prelims. Quote
Quadmom68 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I'm sad Summit didn't even make finals. Does anyone know what place they ended up? Quote
LKendrick Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 As a west Texan I am beyond elated for Permain. The improvement they have made since Midland is astounding. Quote
BlueCircle Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I think the performance times and weather really played a role in prelims placements. Permian and Wylie had awesome time slots while Haltom and TC had to perform when it was pretty chilly. I’m almost surprised that Waxahachie’s time slot didn’t push them into a medal, but I supose the top 3 are really in a league of their own (and then Hebron in another league after that ). Then again, KC seemed to hold their own with that impressive 6th place coming from an early time slot. Quote

bingogooberman Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I know it a bit late in the season for this but is it possible Haltom has homecoming tonight? I remember back in the day Hebron would often have a contest on homecoming day and request to go first in finals so the kids could attend the dance if they wanted to. Bc I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around them in 10th here Quote

I expect they'll move up tonight, if they put on a cleaner show. Quote
Quadmom68 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 View from the Box, did you find out what place Summit was after prelims? Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I have not. Will have to see if it gets posted somewhere. Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Haltom comes out in finals with a much better run, especially musically. One of my favorite shows today. Quote
abtwitch Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Haltom sounded and looked immensely better from this morning, definitely not staying in 10th after finals with a run like that! Quote

josephbandfan Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Didn’t see them in prelims but Haltom looked and sounded amazing! Gives me chills every time Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Yeah, there we go Timber Creek. Much stronger showing tonight. Great job, y’all! Quote
abtwitch Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Yeah, the cold most definitely effected the morning performances, Timber Creek was incredible! Quote
josephbandfan Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 So happy with how much more I enjoyed TC since DFW. I also love seeing them in their uniforms. Quote
ViewFromTheBox Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 As much as it’s overplayed in the marching arts, I absolutely love Sound of Silence, especially when it’s played as well as Wylie does. Quote
josephbandfan Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Lovedd the pop of the yellow and purple in Wylie’s show and the ballad was so emotional. Can’t go wrong with sound of silence. Their closer kind of gave me Tarpon Springs 2010 vibes Quote
