Popular Post lost Posted October 18, 2019 Author Popular Post Posted October 18, 2019 Bands that travel out of Texas face unique challenges and I thought we should give them some appreciation so I compiled a list of every band that’s left the state for a BOA event CTJBandPops, the terminator, LeanderMomma and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post Samuel Culper Posted October 18, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 18, 2019 2020 Grand Nationals - Vista Ridge BanderThanYou, gregorydf01 and LeanderMomma 3 Quote
FaultLineBlues Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I think you have a minor mistake in repeating a few of the years, under different numbers, like the first appearance of 2015 has the information of 2013 I think. Otherwise, this is an AWESOME amount of information you seeked out! Quote
SpartanBandAlum Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Spring went to Nats in ‘91 and placed 9th, I think Quote
TWHSPercDad Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I appreciate the effort and information, "lost". Great list! As a proud Westfield graduate and former director, let me note a correction and two additions - 1985 Westfield 2nd (don't recall the score - Marion Catholic was Champion) First Texas band to Grand Nationals (and yes they were 4th in prelims) 1990 Westfield 2nd (95.30 - Plymouth-Canton Educational Park was Champion with 95.35) Second trip of any Texas band to Grand Nationals 1995 Westfield 2nd (96.45 - Center Grove was Champion with 97.00) Like many Texas bands, it would have been awesome to compete in Indy more often. Westfield can forever be proud of their Grand Nationals accomplishments - 3 second places, and 1 Eagle LeanderMomma and josephbandfan 2 Quote
principalagent Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Can’t forget Klein ‘94! Grand National Finalist as well. TWHSPercDad 1 Quote
SpartanBandAlum Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 - Conally was 26th in 2006 - Colleyville Heritage attended in 2008, didn’t qualify for semis Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Mabank is a huge surprise to me! I have never heard anything about their band program before. When I was in high school I competed against their show choir, though and they were fantastic. Really, really small but a crowd favorite. Quote
CTJBandPops Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 so in 2003 and 2013 Texas Bands took 3 spots in the top 5 at Gnats - hopefully we will see the same or better this year LHSbandDad and TWHSPercDad 2 Quote
