smusic Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Wow! Langham was good, but Duncanville's sound is amazing! They sound better than a lot of college groups I have heard. If they sound that good on a computer then I can only imagine what they sounded like in person. Congrats to them! Quote
Xukaniz Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Never had the oppurtunity to hear great bands like these before. Hopefully we will be there next year though lol. Quote
smusic Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Flight is very very cool!!!! Balmages rocks! And Duncanville is crazy awesome! Quote
the_DRUM_MAJOR Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra's performance of The Moldau is AMAZING. Check it out. Quote
mbui Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Midwest doesn't have it on their website... But, if anyone has a recording of Duncanville performing Eric Whitacre's 'Lux Aurumque', please hit me up with an email. Quote
bored2damax Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Did ahybody get to see the atlanta youth wind symphony??? wow that baritone solo was crazy good. Quote
smusic Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 My director said Duncanville's overall performance was pretty amazing. I asked him about whitacre's Lux and he said it was very well played. I want a recording as well, if there is one out there. Quote
the_DRUM_MAJOR Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 are you looking specifically for a recording of Lux performed by Duncanville? If not, I know that the 5a all state symphonic band played it this last Feb. to premier it..i think..lol..so someone who was in an all state band may have a recording Quote

Also.... L.D. Bell performed the piece as a closer in their marching show this year. It chokes me up every single time. Quote
