LeanderMomma Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Yes, it is in planning and development. Kids and boosters do not know at this time. But, this is going to be a full blown BOA show and my guess is it will be of similar style to their last Grand Nats show. I loved that show so dang much! The music especially. And the GE was just fantastic in that show. Can’t wait to see what CP brings next fall! gregorydf01 1 Quote
Leftmarcher28 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Willis is steadily improving and I was surprised by what Foster did this year. Same here , sadly Willis and Tomball have been moved to 6A. Quote
Jeffrey L. Gorman Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Highland Park came in too high this year. They’ll very very likely be in 6A. The UIL is making the cutoff for 5A at 2220 students. Highland Park comes in at 2209 students which means 5A Again. This is from the UIL Re Alignment listed yesterday. Quote

principalagent Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Yeah I knew the cutoff would rise, but didn’t know it would rise to the point where 6A would have the fewest schools it’s had in at least a decade or two... JeremiahW and gmtb617 2 Quote

lost Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Waco is always a toss-up let’s see who goes this year Quote
BandFan95 Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Westwood did tell the kids their preliminary plan for next marching season. Kuddos to the kids for keeping it under wraps. Quote
lost Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 The fact that’s the first I’m hearing about Westwood’s plans shows me how quiet these kids are keeping things always a fan of a surprise Quote

dylan123 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Agreed. One thing Dawson needs is more consistent show designs, which can be very hard. Some years (2011, 2013, 2016, 2019), they have had some very very good shows that sell very well, and on other years, they have shows that fall a little flat. They are always stellar performers nevertheless. Cant wait to see what comes of them! Their new director should add some consistency with a new design staff. Quote

JasonSatooo Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Any idea when they are gonna let the band talk already? Probably sometime after show reveal. Quote
JasonSatooo Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 I have a really good feeling about our band next year. With what our directors told us they're gonna take a similar approach to what they did last year(planning wise). With them hyping us up I could easily see a performance at UIL state in prelims and finals. Quote

BandFan95 Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 What school? Westwood. And JasonSatooo, I agree. I think that the band is on upward direction. The fact that there looks to be 100 to 110 incoming freshman is a big deal, too. Quote
MadisonBandMan1 Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 I am excited for our band next year as outlets new leadership will finally have a chance to completely design and run our program. It’ll be exciting to say the least. If you look at the improvement from our performance at fall fest to BOA SA, I can’t wait to see how that transfers into next year. LeanderMomma 1 Quote
